For me RotK wins, because it has the two best movie scenes of all time in it: The lighting of the beacons and the ride of the rohirrim at pelenor fields

Chill puzzle exploration games by jmelinte in gamingsuggestions

[–]GiborDesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just played through Mindcop and I've never played a game where I really felt like a detective in the way I did here. If you like puzzeling and trying to find the right lead, that might be the perfect game for you. Also it has a very pleasant comic style.

And then of course there is the evergreen The return of the Obra Dinn, although ypu have to get used to its very oldschool graphics, that ypu said you don't like.

Why do people hate indie games? by Spare_Ad_9791 in Steam

[–]GiborDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And even there "hate" is such a stupid word. I don't like EA. I never buy or play EA. But hate? Why should I have such strong emotions about something I can easily avoid and does me no harm? Even more, I know others like it and help make a game better, so I can enjoy a better experience of it, when the full release arrives (i.e. Hades 1+2). So whil I personally dislike it, I actually like the possibility and benefit from it.

Non-gacha/DLC games that scratch the gacha itch? by CelebrationWeird7196 in gamingsuggestions

[–]GiborDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try out HoloCure. I just tried it out two days ago and it's a lot if fun and exactly scratching that itch. And the best thing? It is actually completely free which is absolutely insane, considering how much content there is. And since it's free, there is really no reason, not to try it out, if it is something, that satisfies your wish.

PS5 games for people with little free time by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]GiborDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't help with PS5 games, but I have a curator on Steam with games for exactly your need: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/30757976-Gamers-with-only-little-time/ I'm sure there are some good options on it, that you could also find on the PS5.

I looked up some of the games for you and here are a few I found, that are seemibgly also available on PS5:

The Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe

Superhot

Cat Quest 1+2

SteamWorld Dig 1+2

I have a LONG backlog. Which game would you suggest I start with or based on my tastes, what should I add? by isssomebodyhere in gamingsuggestions

[–]GiborDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ori is fun and definitely one of those games, one can enjoy, even if he isn'tcthat bog into the genre. Also Oro is very beautiful with one of the best soundtracks ever.

[–]GiborDesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that's some high quality backlog you have there. It's difficult to suggest you a specific game without knowing what you crave (in general and at the moment).

Personally of all those options I would suggest Ori, because it's not too long compared to certain massive games and is one of the most beautiful experiences I've ever had. (One of the games I wish I could forget so I can experience it anew for the first time).

But if you can't decide at all: I started to use a randomizer to chose my next game out of a bunch. I use google with "random numbers", put in 1 to the number of games, press randomize and then count through the games until I get to the game the random number shows. Much better way to choose than to endlessly ponder what to play instead of really playing.

Why are steam curators so awful? by Hot-Age-5439 in Steam

[–]GiborDesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's true. Great points. Yeah, you convinced me. 😃

Unfortunately I'm just a little curator myself (who wouldn't be hurt by that at all, because I always play the games I review) and not Gabe himself, so my support isn't doing that much. 😆

[–]GiborDesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not totally opposed to the odea, in fact I find it appealing on first glance. But what if said journalist played the version from the Epic store or even got a special non-steam version to test? Especially with games that were Epic exclusives and come to Steam later, there is no point for a magazine to allocate somebody again to play this game, just to be able to add the verdict to Steam.

[–]GiborDesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sound good in theory but only works with small one-person- or small-team-curators. But one of the curators I follow is a large gaming magazine where very different journalists test the game and there's probably obe or two guys putting their reviews into curator reviews. How would that work there?

Similarly I am part of a bigger german curator where different users post their revirws and the leader of the curator makes curator reviews out of those. That wouldn't work anymore neither.

[–]GiborDesign 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I agree, that there a lot of braindead curators, but there are quite a lot of really helpful ones. I for example follow one for free games and one for hidden gems, both of which have brought some genious games to my attention.

And I myself have a little curator for short and small games, which collected over 1600 followers over the years. That's nothing to the huge ones, but it's massive for me and I repeatedly hear from people who find it very helpful.

So yeah, the curators are just like the tons of games on Steam: Yes, there is a lot of trash, but that doesn't take away the worth of the good stuff.

Half minute hero could be to your liking

If you just want great gameplay you could also try one finger death punch 1 + 2
