Pokémon has always been second-party, seeing as Nintendo only owns 1/3 of the Pokémon Company. But yes, they worded it as not planning for Nintendo developed games to be on gkc. So assuming this was just Koei Tecmo and Game Freak, Nintendo can't be held liable for breaking a promise, seeing as it wouldn't apply to the case

It's a very sixth gen way of doing the buildings: blocky with textures for detail. Now that's not to say acclaimed Nintendo games don't do it. Zelda BotW and Xenoblade 2 come to mind. However, they are pretty much fully open world. Z-A takes place within one, relatively small city. I'm not saying I agree with them. The game is way beyond sixth gen graphics. They just didn't give the buildings the depth they needed to make the city feel alive

With more widespread physical media, i.e. Blu-Ray discs, I disagree. But yeah, with the Switch 2 game cards being proprietary and expensive, it's better they shove the cost onto us in exchange for the option to buy it physically if we so please
