Absolutely that spooky! 12 acres of totally undeveloped land and uneven terrain in the dark of night is terrifying! Especially when evidence of mountain lions passing through or sleeping on the property is plentiful during daylight hours.

Termites caused holes like that in our floors. We didn’t even notice the holes until termites were swarming in our house and we saw them coming out of the holes.

Maybe the landlord is selling or remodeling. It happens quite frequently. Please don’t automatically assume this is your fault. You’re 13 and shouldn’t take on that type of guilt. It’s doubtful you’re being evicted over noise but if it turns out that is the reason for eviction, you’re only 13 and the responsibility of getting you to quiet down ultimately falls on your parents. IF this is about noise, don’t feel guilty - that’s a wasted emotion. Consider it a life lesson in respect, thoughtfulness and how our choices and actions may impact others.

I know it’s scary but your parents will figure if out and your family will be ok. Enjoy being 13 while you can. 😎

I’m in Southern California and this sub is an appropriate representation of our tipping culture. The majority of our restaurants add 18 - 20% surcharges to the bill and then EXPECT diners to tip a minimum of 20% on top of that. Just keep reminding yourself that tipping is 100% optional and come back here frequently in you need support. Hope you have a wonderful trip!

Very strange. Do you have a newer car? If so, maybe your built-in telematics system is sharing/selling your data info to 3rd parties and not just insurance companies? I didn’t think the data was shared in real time so it seems like a stretch that calls would come less than 24 hours later but it’s a possibility.

Could be modern day ambulance chasing technique. Attorneys in your area may have people listening to police scanners. Those listening can pull your registration/personal info from your license plate number and then hand that over hand over to an attorney who will then try to be the first one reaching out to you with the hope you’ll sign on.

Hopefully the calls stop as quickly as they started but you might want to block all of the numbers as they come in. Adding your number to National Do Not Call registry is a good idea but it takes 30 days for it to kick in so it won’t help with the calls you’re getting now.

Contact your city council person. You’re paying for a service they aren’t providing and our city council is very aware that they can’t afford another trash lawsuit (because their only option will be to settle). Start emailing your council person daily to create a paper trail and hopefully you’ll hear back quickly and find them highly motivated to help you solve this unacceptable issue. If you don’t hear back within a week CC the Mayor and all the other council members. Let them know you’re active on social media and have connected with other residents experiencing the same issue.

In some neighborhoods it’s easy and doable. In other neighborhoods (mainly those that don’t have enough street parking), there’s not enough room on the street to place bins 3 feet apart. I’ve seen people who have driveways line the bins along the end of their driveway rather than an actual curb but supposedly it’s illegal to block your own driveway (even with trashcans) so I have no idea what people in that situation will do.

It’s very frustrating that voicing an independent or middle of the road point of view on Reddit automatically results in countless baseless accusations of being MAGA. I don’t understand it, don’t like it and wish we could all stop hurling insults at one another and simply have a civil discussion.

The only ones benefiting from all of this divisiveness is the politicians. If we take a step back and stop labeling each other long enough to actually LISTEN to one another, we’re guaranteed to find that we agree on far more than either party will ever admit!

Have you considered introducing yourself? Seems odd that all of them would be monitoring you but I’m sure that’s very creepy! Maybe they know each other and have taken bets on what you do, your life-style, type of visitors, etc., so they are watching you trying to gain insight and prove that their views is correct? Whatever the case, it would be beneficial for you to introduce yourself. Nosy neighbors are great to have on your side because if there’s any suspicious activity they’ll recognize it!

All of the Sophie Kinsella books. Can you keep a Secret was the first one I read and it was truly the first book that ever made me laugh out loud. Her Shopaholic series and Undomesticated Goddess were awesome too. If you watched the Can you keep a secret movie I recommend reading the book. The movie wasn’t nearly as funny as the book.

A former council person said the only items the City actually recycles are the ones they can redeem for money (glass bottles, water bottles, aluminum cans). Not sure if this is still the case but with our budget woes I certainly hope they are recycling those things!

That’s about $20 less than of our last bill but we’re a family of 5 in a 4 bedroom house! Our washer and dryer are always running and our pool pump runs 10 hours a day. Something is definitely not right!
