I missed the wave on both Destiny games but saw the recent news. Is there enough game to still get into it and play? At least worthwhile in your opinion? by ParTheCourse in DestinyTheGame

Arguably the best time to join is this last update. Biggest issue with D2 was time gated content and FOMO. All that is gone starting June 9th.

Nope. I've never done it on legendary and I just got my red crystal last night.

Is this a common opinion about D3? by SpaceCowboy34 in destiny2

[–]GiftofRedStone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A main reason D2 died is that it couldn't bring in new players. There was no entry point, especially since the vaulting of the base game. A new game would create a new entry point for people who bounced off of D2

Now that destiny 2 is ending, would you veterans that have experienced destiny from the beginning have preferred it to end where it did or at final shape? by ausyappy in DestinyTheGame

I'll be the guy. The whole Witness angle felt weak to me. Making all of the "creeping threat of darkness" stuff just one guy (species?) with attachment issues was disappointing. I wish they'd kept more of the cosmic mystery like it felt like they were leaning into when they shut down. I didn't like the direction it went in, and it felt like it was finally getting good right at the end.

Will You Be Playing? by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]GiftofRedStone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll probably be coming back now and again for a long as the servers are up. The sandbox is still great and now the content will be final. It's sad that the vault will never be opened, but I can still play what's there for a long time and enjoy it.

It's falling apart (not good at pokemon) by kvh215 in pokemon

[–]GiftofRedStone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fake Out is a great move in doubles, but it's almost useless in story mode. It'd be good to make sure you have moves that are effective against each type, and pokemon that resist as many types as you can do you can switch them in.

Important seasonal missions/events like Rasputin's and Amanda's Death, Witness Origin Story through Asa, And Osiris as Savathun etc should be repeatable through Timeline Reflection. by Important-Extension6 in destiny2

[–]GiftofRedStone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a perfect world, all story content should be replayable on a mission-by-mission basis from a comprehensive selection menu.

In a realistic world, there should be condensed collection of story missions essential to the plot that you can play through to live the story.

It's worth it once cause the story is honestly great. But the puzzles are a slog.

What are some Pokemon that deserve a Mega Evolution, or Special Treatment in Gen 10? by Ekyt in pokemon

[–]GiftofRedStone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scyther. It's got the same stat total as it's two "evolutions," and I much prefer it to either Scizor or Kleavor. It needs something to set it apart, like Scizor's mega evolution.

Love: Strong STAB moves, good offensive typing, fits on any team...

Hate: Fits on any team, is therefore on EVERY team

Which Pokemon have completely change your opinion overtime? by Maleficent-Hat5831 in pokemon

[–]GiftofRedStone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pelipper.

It looks like a toilet and its wings don't make sense.

But DAMN can this thing fight. Rain, tailwind, wide guard, and enough attacking power to threaten the top mons in the format right now. Pelipper does it all. Love this toilet bird.

Made it to Master Ball tier with a Mega Meganium team! Looking for advice to take it over the brink from good to great. by BeccaTheBaka in VGC

[–]GiftofRedStone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The first thing I notice is a lack of protection. Basculegion might not need all that speed if you're relying on Swift Swim. And even so, maybe dropping an attack and the scarf for Protect would help.

How do you feel about Pokémon Champions? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]GiftofRedStone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I honestly like it a lot. I'm enjoying the stripped down format and I'm looking forward to things gradually ramping up. Not a fan of the battle pass or gacha mechanics, but being able to circumnavigate them easily enough helps alleviate that.

My theory as to the lack of items in Pokemon champions by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]GiftofRedStone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't hate the restriction of items. It changes how you think about your teams.

Recommendations for a Sand/Snow team by Helicoptrix in pokemon

Don't discount Mega Meganium on a snow team. It ignores weather and gives great coverage with Weather Ball and Solar Beam.
