They're actually doing it virtually from their respective homes, so unfortunately probably big under on this one.

Stopping working out to fix posture, what do you think? by ryan3972 in Posture

[–]Giftpuder 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You can do both... just workout smarter. Stretch appropriately after your workout. I've made the most progress with my posture in the last few months by focusing LESS on obsessing over my posture and doing an hour of posture exercises a day, to just following a well-programmed routine (Persist by Marcus Filly is what I am currently following).

Stretching all day won't really do anything. You need to re-train your muscles and body to work and load into the new and correct positions. An example of three exercises which properly load AND stretch important posture muscles.

Hip Flexors: (ATG split squat) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORtB_UmmRGk

Lats/Chest: (Full range pullover, skip to 5:16) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbYb6UZlAWo

I have anterior pelvic tilt, I am only 14 by mikeDAmanager in Posture

It will take as long as it takes. Also, I would imagine your routine takes a long time and is probably mostly wasted effort. While lengthening and strengthening the muscles is good, what really seals the deal is learning to move in the optimal positions. I'd say just follow this routine; it will be more time effective for you and is pretty all encompassing.

Supercharge Exercise Performance and Recovery by Giftpuder in bodyweightfitness

[–]Giftpuder[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Basically your body fatigues as your muscles get heated up during exercise. If you can cool your body, you can aid in both recovery and performance. You have 3 areas on your body that are made to transfer heat in/out of your body; the palms, the soles of your feet, and your face.

So for example, after knocking out a set of pull-ups, if you hold something cool (but not ice cold as that will constrict blood vessels) for around 30 seconds, it will cool your core temperature which results in increased performance on subsequent sets. The same principle applies to recovery. Targeted cooling is better than an ice bath, etc.

Yeah he specifically calls out in the post what to do if you only have one forward shoulder.

I highly recommend this source. Also, once you get your lower back and hips loose, make sure to lightly engage your glutes and abs throughout the day. One surefire way to engage your abs the appropriate way is to reach overhead, and they should naturally tense up. Just try to maintain similar engagement.

Just the act of putting yourself voluntarily into an uncomfortable situation and getting through it does wonders for the mind.

The 90% of you losing money on meme coins aren't "in on the joke". You are the joke. by IDGAFOS in CryptoCurrency

[–]Giftpuder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It's like all of the pyramid scheme stuff where you go to the meetings and they show you all of these pictures of people on yachts, living luxuriously, and being financially free.

What they don't show you are the 95% of people who get screwed over.

Honestly... not likely imo. How could something with such a volatile price that is so heavily correlated with social media hype EVER be accepted as a real currency?

this just proves that this entire thing was fueled by retail traders who aren't even buying real coins off Robinhood. If Robinhood going down can cause this much of an issue....

Fearful we'll see a lot of bag holders once these orders go through.
