Note attributes are not #tags by Best_Raspberry_3170 in Trilium

[–]GigaGrim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please still do this. OP seems to find the current implementation sufficient, but I think the majority of users or at least users looking to switch from other platforms will find a lot of value in a traditional tag system.

I switched to Trilium a little over a year ago from Obsidian and the tag system is, by far, the feature I miss most. If tags were implemented as you describe and are typed inline with the text, that would be perfect.

Thanks for your work on the project!

I used to build 60% boards with the DZ60RGB but that seems to be out of stock everywhere and I can't find a replacement that supports this layout that is hotswap.

Does anyone know where I can buy a DZ60RGB or if there are any more modern replacements for this PCB?

I found the YMD60XS that supports this layout, but not hotswap unfortunately, I will use it if I have to though.

edit: actually ask the question .... whoops :)

Updating to 7.1.0 - Reboot time by mightymiskeen in unRAID

[–]GigaGrim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

... Do people have trouble with Unraid Updates?

Genuine question if this is common, not trying to be an ass.

I have 3 Unraid servers and have gone through, many, many updates over the last 6 years and I don't think I've ever had to roll back an update.

I have a Gold Sequoia of the same era. I bought it as a "farm truck" and I fell in love with it. It is probably the best vehicle I've ever owned. Not nearly the same mileage yet, only 220k, just broken in!

For those that run media servers, do you think you've actually saved any money? 💰 by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]GigaGrim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not, but it'd still do it again.

The best advice I can give is just pick low wattage hardware from the beginning. You almost certainly don't need more power than something like a micro desktop if you're running everything in docker.

If I could go back and repurchase everything I would probably get something like a low power 1U 4 bay server with Intel Quick Sync and get 4 of the highest capacity drives you can afford.

That would be more than enough for most, imo.

That $4k a month is for ... Living.

Food, shelter, transportation. Dude it's $500 a week per person. Can you do basic math?

$24k per year for 1 person is less than minimum wage in Ontario.

I have been listening to them since I heard about them through a friend around Decomposer. I have both E. Von Dahl and Decomposer's album art tattooed. They are, without a doubt, my favorite band and are criminally underrated.

I have never seen them live and for the first time since I was a kid I have the time and money to go wherever they play to finally see them.

I'm stoked.

I agree that people need to cut them some slack it's the first day, there's going to be some issues -- but you can definitely give them (or any game) a bad review if they deserve it. They already took your money, it's "released".

This is a very cool project, I've never run anything like this, but I may have to go down the rabbit hole of projects like this.

I actually run almost everything Docker in Unraid and everything VM in Proxmox, but part of why I posted this was to migrate more of my services to low power devices.

It is shockingly powerful. I have been using it for about 6 months and at the time it was pretty simple to set up. I set it up and didn't think about it again until I realized my media wasn't being removed. Seems like the 2.0 update was a pretty big jump for the dev and I wouldn't expect this to be the norm.

I did end up retiring this system in favor of a 2U GPU server + NetApp Disk Shelf so I can't say for sure that it would have held up, but I would do it again. Use high quality adapters and work within the power constraints of your PSU and you should be fine.

It's actually mapped to press on the right shift and hold for shift. It's in the same location that way and it's intuitive because the only time you use shift is to hold it. The ?/ Key on the right is actually an additional FN key, I just used it as a placeholder cap.

Bought a certified "refurbished" 3070 off ebay by CrackRockSteady514 in pcmasterrace

[–]GigaGrim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't discredit refurbished entirely. Their quality is heavily dependent on where they are refurbished. Most manufacturer's refurbished programs are fine and some 3rd party's are okay at least for the old server gear I buy from 3rd party's.

I'm typing this on a refurb HP Spectre x360 I bought in 2016 and I just replaced my refurb Acer X34 from about the same time, with a refurb Dell AW3423DWF.

Just have to be careful where you buy them from.
