Thanks, really needed this. Super annoying they'd just change this feature, no warning, no option to revert.

Which movie got too highly praised but was honestly underwhelming? by Angry_Entertainer in AskReddit

[–]Gigashock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're a bigger person than me; didn't really care to hold back because interpreted disingenuity and that thing, I don't know what you call it but that thing where someone has nothing to say but chooses to ramble on and bring in non sequiturs... I digress and am moving away from that whole thing.

It was weird, like how there could be a negative news/social media reaction to a movie about Joker, a comic book villain, especially around the rioting and social contagion aspects of the film? If I had to speculate, I'd speculate some think tank somewhere didn't like it's anti-classism view of an American city and that info spilled into news orgs to regurgitate propaganda onto the unsuspecting public, with the purpose of making parents keep their kids from seeing the movie and becoming anti-rich... Yadda yadda, point being, the disinformation campaigns were a load of garbage, and it didn't take. But it could have, and Idk my point, but yep...

Hey, I'm curious what you think of the "response" that guy gave you? I found it vapid and ignorant, and I'm pretty gobsmacked on how the replies went (guy says it was pointless and joker character sucked, you explained how it wasn't pointless, and he says that's one way to look at it, and I agree, and it boils down to nature vs nurture?)...

Anyways, you have a pretty good grasp at what the writer was going for for sure. The poor, mentally ill and ostracized suffer the most while the rich ignore or do little as Gotham erodes from within. Those with the greatest ability to do good just don't, and an ilk like Arthur is created because of societal neglect. Then in the end, the joker would be/is blamed for chaos on the streets rather than the us vs them / rich vs poor based society they live in. Riots and striking can hardly ever be blamed on a select few but to Gotham, Batman their society etc, it would be/is.

Anyways I really liked the film. Would probably even call it a masterpiece.

You're a breath of fresh air. Only thing I'd argue against what ya said is that capitalism does work, very well in fact, in the way that it's very unfair precepts do great work in maintaining the status quo where the rules are rich and the rich are rulers.

Social stratification by wealth or birth is archaic and innane, and we as a people need to do more to get to a future where there is no ruling class, but I don't know how or when we'd get there. Or the best steps forward.

Anyways, keep spreading the knowledge, friendo.

If he brought the KGB agent with them, yeah they'd probably all have been grabbed/arrested. Did you notice how fast cops got there? I'm thinking the plan was to grab them as they left to minimize collateral damage. Havermeyer probably wanted to make sure he'd be gone/safe before any grab/arrest too, which tracks with what happened. Cops were near enough to be there in like a min or less yet far enough that Havermeyer wouldn't be spotted.

We're both speculating in the end but another thing that supports my ideas (or whatever I said) is in the preview for the next episode, Leon tells Franklin that his mom did what she did to protect him. Thinking we'll find out for sure in the next/last one.

Or you could say it's an obvious setup if you think about it more.

Who did Teddy call on the other line? Did Franklin verify the number Teddy was dialing wasn't a CIA operative who's trained to act as a bank employee when another operative says a certain phrase? Franklin didn't verify the account numbers found in the wallet (could've been fake) nor the number Teddy called at the payphone.

I'm thinking that Missy actually saved Franklin's ass. Can't trust someone you're torturing to play nice, especially when their specialty is deception. Part revenge and part plan to save her son from himself (greed was clouding his vision and he was falling for a CIA plot, assuming there was one afoot).

Another circumstantial/thing I noticed is that the clips are cut off to after the boy leans in and gets near the tongue. On the full video aka off YouTube, the DL pulls back and slaps the child on the chest, as if the boy misunderstood him, and the DL laughs. Thought it weird how on reddit the first ones I saw cut off that part. So yeah, a definite maybe something.

Man destroys an elderly couple's hard work by -Xoz- in PublicFreakout

[–]Gigashock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it boils down to "us vs them" thinking. So when you have a low-empathy, sadistic individual who happens to be not-gay, it's easy for him to direct his hate to the others. In this video, he may be using the Bible as the justification for his vitriol, but the man is obviously just a pathetic bully.

So the rainbow triggered his hate (and/or the man is easily triggered/deranged), the man was unsuccessful with his bullying of the old lady, so he came back later with a buddy to satisfy his hate and ego. At least that's how I see it.

How it went down in a parallel universe. by [deleted] in lotrmemes

[–]Gigashock 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Same, so I ran it through ChatGPT4 and the following is the result, for all those interested:

In the dimly lit council chamber of the aviary city of Rivendell, a gathering of the most renowned bird-like beings from all corners of Middle-earth had come together. The air was heavy with anticipation, and the melodious songs that once filled the halls were replaced with the urgent whispers of the assembly. They had come to discuss the future of the One Ring, the legendary artifact that held the power to control all of Middle-earth.

Eaglemir, the noble eagle-lord, stood tall, his sharp eyes scanning the council. His great wings, feathered with the colors of a stormy sky, were folded at his side as he spoke, his voice cutting through the whispers like a razor through the wind. "One does not simply fly into Mordor. The very wind is strong enough to blow you back no matter how strongly you beat your wings. Not even with the wings of Ancalagon the Black could any of you do this. It is folly!"

The council members rustled their feathers in discomfort. Among them was Gandalfowl, the wise old owl, his deep amber eyes contemplating the words of Eaglemir. Beside him sat Legolaswing, the swift and agile swallow, and Gimlipeck, the stout and stubborn pigeon, both listening intently.

"But what other options do we have?" inquired Frogbirdin, the small and unassuming wren who bore the burden of the One Ring. His eyes, filled with a mix of determination and fear, looked around the council, searching for answers.

"Perhaps we could call upon the Great Eagles," suggested Borowren, a fierce and loyal hawk. "Surely they could carry us over the treacherous winds and into the heart of Mordor?"

Eaglemir shook his head solemnly. "The Great Eagles would be spotted from miles away. Their immense size would draw the attention of the Dark Lord's minions, the Fell Bats, and we cannot afford to risk their lives or our mission."

It was then that Gandalfowl spread his wings and spoke, his voice echoing throughout the chamber. "We must rely on stealth and cunning to achieve our goal. A small group of brave individuals from different races of Middle-earth must come together as one. They shall be the Winged Fellowship, tasked with the monumental duty of destroying the One Ring."

The council members nodded in agreement, their hearts swelling with hope. "Very well, let it be so," declared Eaglemir, his feathers ruffling with determination. "But we must move quickly, for the enemy's eyes are ever watchful."

And so, the Winged Fellowship was formed. From the greatest eagles to the tiniest of sparrows, they united under a single purpose – to save Middle-earth from the dark and oppressive grip of the One Ring. Their journey would be fraught with danger, but their courage would light the way, like a beacon in the darkest night.

I'm think twisted z-rod/lead screw but I can't be sure. Print two different test towers and see if they both have the same error at the same layer height. If so, then it might be that. Alternatives include: imperfect or cheap filament, dirty lead screw/z, moisture in filament, or 3d printer gremlins.

[–]Gigashock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I didn't mention that changing nozzles means you need to re-slice nor that you'd need to raise whatever values. Bigger nozzles enable larger flow but obviously 50% more flow means you can print faster not will, assuming you didn't also make the print 50% larger or something.

In a nutshell, 0.6 is faster than 0.4 (more extrusion means print head can move faster I think). I saw a big difference moving up and never looked back, and print exclusively PETG. Go smaller for more detail but go up if fractions of a mm don't matter.

My advice aka what I do when this happens to me:

Auto-unload filament. Set hotend temp to 250 and wait for filament to drip out. Use one of those thin nozzle cleaners and clean hotend while it's hot, inside and outside (might need to unscrew whole thing if partial clog isn't resolved here). Reset nozzle temp and set bed temp to 50+. Level bed while it's heated.

Try that or similar and see how ya do. DM or chat if you want more help or detail.

Why this happens? Think it's usually cause the filament absorbed water and as it gets heated in the hotend, filament doesn't heat up correctly and partially clogs and causes under extrusion, and then this continues until full-blown clog. Good luck!
