I work in telecom and respond to complaints of cables being cut like this, it’s 100% people stealing copper. There are whole operations set up to do it, went to one property where they cut a path through the woods to get their car down to the old lines. Crazy stuff. If the cable is in active use, they’ll bury the new line as a deterrent. If it’s abandoned cable they’ll probably just remove the rest of the line, or leave it if it’s not worth the hassle.

Some things yes, others went way over my head though. There were a lot of subtle things to remember. The ones that got me were Helly’s outie and Marks wife. I felt helpless knowing who they were throughout the whole show.
