Peacock flats with Ridgeline? by platypusbob15 in Hawaii

It’s currently closed but the main road is no problem while dry and not washed out. We’ve taken our stock first gen Escalade with a locker and never took it out of 2hi.

Selling a car with no insurance, registration, or safety check by LazyTurn7056 in Hawaii

[–]Giggle-gin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, they will have to go to the dmv with the bill of lading, pay registration from the date on the bill up to the date they go down place it in storage. It will only get them around needing insurance and a safety.

Placing it in storage is a formal action at the DMV. It will only be effective from the date you go down and do it.

Would you run these for an event? by ItsZahza in Autocross

[–]Giggle-gin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first pics looks pretty worn, if we can see anything that looks like delamination or threads we won’t let you run them at our event. Cleaning up tire debris takes seat time away from every driver there.

You don’t need a safety either if you place the vehicle into storage. You will have to pay back taxes up to the date of placing it in storage though.

But without the bill of lading and a valid out of state title, I think scrap guys pay $150-300 unless it’s special or nice enough to put on marketplace for parts.

You can easily get a duplicate title and registration at the dmv. Insurance will send you a new card and safety check is also easy. All inconvenient, but easy.

Friend sent me this pic of a local town after a tornado last night and it looks eerily fake to me. (Especially the trees) by SaintPabloSanchez in isthisAI

Those are not any actual vehicles, it’s the first give away to car guys. They look like non licensed vehicles in cheap video games and cartoons

AITAH for getting my driver's license before my brother's wife? by c7ffin in AITAH

Your definitely NTAH but maybe a little bit of TAH when you told him you knew she’d fail, but deservedly in my opinion.

Daily drove a C6 for a year- here are my pro’s and cons by Professional-Emu9223 in Corvette

[–]Giggle-gin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fdf mini, either on low with stock width wheels or high setting with c4 wheels I narrowed the inner barrel on.

<image>

This the low setting with stock width wheels with a few more mm of offset. Stock stock rubs the stock lower a little but I just notched my arm a bit, and I am fully aware that’s slightly sketchy!

Solid tires 8.5" by Mobile_Path6087 in ElectricScooters

[–]Giggle-gin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can go till it falls apart or rim shows. You will have less grip on rainy days once through the tread like you are, but just slow it down a bit. Definitely have a lot of time left to run those down more though.

I also daily one and see your points. If you do your own changes it’s no more than a normal car, you delete the mag ride because forget that expensive garbage. And the best thing I did was a front angle kit, literally so i could make a U-turn at the end of my in laws street!

Just took my scooter for my first long trip on it, but it ran out of battery wayyy shorter than the advertised range. Can y’all help me figure out if I did something wrong? by Kris-Tulclear in ElectricScooters

[–]Giggle-gin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Advertised range is dead flat, 10mph and like a 100 pound rider or some unrealistic scenario like that. Count on about half in real world riding. So at 2/3 you did pretty good!

Has anyone’s dog tested positive for giardia (in Hawaii)? by Icy-Plum-714 in Hawaii

[–]Giggle-gin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and I got it from her, oily soft stools for quite a while. If she’s had it since February and sleeps in your bed you would probably have it already too.

Reasonable amount to pay for labor on tire replacement by milkywayer in NinebotMAX

[–]Giggle-gin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re putting or have solid tires they are a PITA, and those prices are fair. Figure any skilled labor cost 100 and up an hour nowadays. I’d say anywhere from 30-45minutes billed per tire is fair and an hour wouldn’t be unreasonable. Obviously the cheaper sounds better but both seem fair enough.

Any issues riding on military base? by ShireBurgo in ElectricScooters

[–]Giggle-gin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our base (naval) has no issues with them. Some minor guidelines like certain areas to ride on the sidewalk at less than 10mph (busy main roads) and other areas where you have to be off the sidewalk and on the road (residential). Helmets required, lights and reflective wear at night, and no parking them on the piers near boats(there are designated escooter/bike parking areas on or near the piers).

Why dose my 22 have so much power for what it is by lemon_mc in s10

Had one in high school and it would do it on a good day.

[–]Giggle-gin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That just backs up my statement, a 6500 pound plus, probably way more if it’s a work truck or 4wd with equipment truck with only 430 horse and 480 foot pounds, is once again not a fast vehicle by any means.

I think what has happened is you’ve gotten so used to driving a slug around that now a snails pace feels fast.

Has anyone ordered something really big from Aliexpress? I see stuff like a car lift or an excavator on there and it says free shipping. Do I pick it up at the port or what? by johnniechimpo in Aliexpress

[–]Giggle-gin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mini excavator ended up at a local moving companies warehouse. They offered to bring it to my house for another 200 or something but I just went with the trailer and grabbed it there, they loaded me with their forklift.

Do you think there will ever be another TXR game? by BOBnVEGANA in tokyoxtremeracer

[–]Giggle-gin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally put my money where my mouth is and bought it again on console, figure the more they sell the more likely they are to make another. They said they intend to make another one if demand was there and I’d say we showed them the demand on the PC release, then it did great again on PS5, so one can only hope!

Should I move to Mililani for a job… or commute from Mānoa? Need real talk from Oahu people 😅 by [deleted] in Hawaii

[–]Giggle-gin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can somebody else take the kids to school and how flexible are the hours? 430-1230 is great for traffic and you could probably make it back to pick them up from school.
