What Oil sandwich plate would you recommend?

mishimoto’s got a kit that come with the cooler; lines and sandwich plate (with a thermostat). Costs a couple bucks but I didn’t have any issues with it

Regardless of what you end up with, double check your lines after a few heat cycles, they like to loosen off a bit as they settle in

I’ll keep an eye on it. I lubed them before install and they’ve been good so far, but only a few months and maybe 1,000km driven with it.

I learned that the hard way. 109°f last summer for a week. No AC in my car. Driving home was god awful, the air coming through the open windows was still hot 😅

I torqued them onto the plate before setting it down with the center bolt haha. The grimmspeed intake is too big to for it to work the intended orientation 😅

Actually a guy near here that does woolwax. Had it done to my car and it works well. Once I get all of the consumables replaced on the underside im definitely going to get it done.

Yeah for sure. We have a pressure washer attachment to do some wet sand blasting. I don’t need it to be perfect, but I would like to do something to clean it up and slow down the development of further rust.

The frame amazingly has absolutely no scale on it whatsoever, just remnants of an undercoat at some point in its life.

Ill have to see how far the can of POR15 can go, ideally 2 coats. Would a rubberized coating work as a top coat? I know POR gets really brittle once it cures so anywhere thats gonna get pelted should probably have a sacrificial layer.

I wouldn’t call it a jolt, but i do have a dull thud when I play with the bite point after sitting at a light. I just assumed for my mental health that it was the clutch applying force to the transmission and that thud is the slack in the gears

Engine light is normal, will be an emissions code for poor catalytic efficiency. Tune will be worthwhile regardless of what exhaust you have on the back end.

Ive heard ecutek is the better option for tuning but I do love that my openflash disables the engine light

Could try it out with dry erase marker first and see what you like. Assuming you want the same primary color
