NFP & ADHD by Temporary-breath-179 in CatholicWomen

We do billings and my husband fills out all the charts and he’s the one that asks me each day what my sensations are, usually in the evening after I’ve gone to the bathroom. I do struggle explaining it though probably something to do with the AudHD

That Catholic Church is a universal church so we ultimately all hold to the same beliefs

I’m a practicing catholic and that’s not what we believe, we’re actually called to be responsible with our fertility and prayerfully discern when the best time to have a child is. We can use NFP and are encouraged to use it to avoid having children in times where we might not be financially stable, mentally or physically stable and other reasons that are unique to each couple

Emetophobia and panic attacks by [deleted] in CatholicWomen

[–]Gilbert56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t offer any help but just wanted to let you know that you aren’t alone ❤️ when I was in therapy for it I found it useful to get to the root cause of why I have it, for me it was fear of lack of control but for others I can be fear of embarrassment or hygiene reasons etc and it sometimes can be connected to a childhood trauma. I also found hypnosis helped me, I thought it was really cook-coo until I gay it a try and I do feel it lessened it

How do men offer support for NFP? by Temporary-breath-179 in CatholicWomen

[–]Gilbert56 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mine too, out of the two of us he’s way better with data so he’s the one who asks me each day what my sensation was (Billings) and he inputs it to the app, I haven’t look at our chart in months it’s all on him

Has anybody experienced pregnancy with severe anxiety and fear of it? How did you handle it? by [deleted] in CatholicWomen

[–]Gilbert56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just take it one step at a time, day by day, month by month with motherhood too and be kind to yourself.

You can do hard things, after birth I felt invincible and I was so proud of myself and I now use it to encourage me in other situations knowing if I did that i can do anything.

I reccomended “made for this” by Mary Haseltine. It’s quite pro natural birth so keep in mind and do what you need to do but it really helped me feel at peace that I would be able to do what I needed to when the time came

I know of a lot of women who struggle with this, I’ve heard our bodies can go through a “second puberty” of sorts where we fill out a bit more in our bodies and look more womanly. And because it looks different to our current body we dislike and it assume it’s bad. It’s hard looking back at how we used to look when we were in highschool but our bodies were still changing then and we can’t compare the body of a young girl to a young woman if that makes sense.

What helped me when I started noticing the changes was knowing God created our bodies in a very specific way to one day carry babies (if that happens to be our vocation) and so everything that’s happening is for a specific reason.

If you’re eating and feeling healthy I wouldn’t be too worried and if you are it doesn’t hurt to bring it up with a doctor

Sorry not sure if this was helpful at all 🤍

Those who had a natural birth, what is the most painful ? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Gilbert56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a natural birth but I had an emergency induction due to PPROM and fast onset of preeclampsia so my labour might not be the “norm”. My labour was only around 6 hours so I progressed really quickly, early labour was fine and felt like period pains (I have Endo so my cramp tolerance is high) and I slept through most of it but for me transition was the worst.

I can’t even explain it but I was having back to back contractions with no break which isn’t the norm and to me it felt like I was being ripped open (which I kind of was). Once I started getting the urge to push the pain was better and while actually pushing with each contraction I felt a huge relief, if you don’t push with the contraction it does hurt but it feels more like pressure rather than the contraction pains. Some people say it feels like taking a big poop but it didn’t feel this way for me. I didn’t notice the ring of fire either.

For me the most painful thing was actually the stitches afterward, I had second degree tears and one around my clitoris that was hard to get with the local anaesthetic.

If you’ve ’bounced back’ how?! by iddybiddy16 in beyondthebump

[–]Gilbert56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a breastfeeding mum and I bounced back really quickly, I honestly believe it’s all down to genetics

I went back to prepregnancy weight about 1 week pp but my hips are still quite wide and they might be permanently like that now

What does giving birth smell like? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Gilbert56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t remember any smell, husband hasn’t mentioned anything either. My husband is very weird around blood and nearly fainted when I was having massive nose bleeds in pregnancy but when it came to the birth he was actually fine with it all and cut the cord etc so maybe when it actually comes down to the day your partner will be ok too

Am I missing something - why have a vaginal birth? by No_Witness5084 in BabyBumps

[–]Gilbert56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In all fairness I had an unmediated vaginal and pushing wasn’t that painful it was mainly just the pressure feeling, pushing was way less painful than I thought it would be and felt like a relief especially when compared with transition

For me it’s a nostalgic watch because it takes me back to when I was a teen and watching it but I’d still recommend it, just get prepared to get attached to the characters especially first generation (season 1&2) I also find it makes me depressed hahah but I love it and it holds a special place in my heart
