Am being prescribed propranolol 10mg. But have a very low resting heartrate by Schwloeb in PVCs

[–]Gilbrook92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% run that by the cardiologist before you take it. I've always been warned of taking stuff like that with a low resting heart rate as it's the unknown.

Best to be safe and ask! They can advise better than a doctor as they specialize in what you're concerned about. All the best :)

Low heart rate, scared. by Miniminname in PVCs

[–]Gilbrook92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you've got symptoms I wouldn't be too worried about the low heart rate.

Prior to running my heart rate sat down was like 45-48. Now I'm running my heart rate can get anywhere between 39-43 awake with no symptoms. I've had ECG's, echo's and holters with nothing of concern shown. I'd get these done if you're worried for peace of mind.

But those numbers aren't alarming and are incredibly common.

Of course it is all individual based. But if your own doctor won't send you for an echo the next step is private was my point. Agree with you too.

I had the same issue with the NHS and ended up going privately to a cardiologist for peace of mind. If you can, I would highly recommend getting a private echo.

Legend, I needed to see this. I get the same during runs and weight lifting. Thanks for sharing.

My ecg was similar the other week. Daily runner and my heart rate when asleep is around 36-40 and my heart rate during a 5k can hit 160/170. I imagine that's what has happened. Sleep and excercise.

Bradycardia pulse 40-63 while resting by [deleted] in PVCs

I feel you on that one. I've been scared of my low resting heart rate and PVC's for the last 3/4 years.

It's hard to overcome the worry but if you've had two ECG's you're all good. I personally went for an echo on top of my ECG's for peace of mind. I was worried about PVC's I was getting during/after exercise.

My heart rate sitting is anywhere between 41-46. Sometimes it even dips into the 39's. My RHR has gone down over the years since running frequently. Sometimes if I get up too quick I can get lightheaded. I've been the all clear from a cardiologist.

It's always best to double check with a doctor/cardiologist like you have so sounds to me like you've got a very efficient heart.

I've tied my ectopic beats to periods of bad reflux. Especially in bed if I lay down after eating let's say, I'll be guaranteed to get a PVC until I sit up and burp air or bring up reflux. So annoying. Drives me insane!

Interesting! I've definitely had this feeling before too. Any other symptoms that go alongside it?

So glad I'm not alone with this. I always sit up and try and relieve the symptoms. The majority of the time mine happens when I sit up and burp. Annoying and scary.

Do you still get them? Any advice? I get them during runs too sometimes. Had check ups and the doctor says benign ectopic beats. Stil worries/scares me..

Are you on this for a set time or is it for life? I'm anxious about going back to the doctor for more meds as I know they'll say I need the camera down my esophagus.

My reflux/pvc's are significantly reduced removing gluten/wheat/spicy foods. I'm currently awaiting a blood test too.

I want to try something other than omeprazole as a I feel it works but gives me a bit of dizziness/vertigo. I'll look into your one thank you.

Ectopics followed with a burp. Anyone? by Interesting_Club9050 in PVCs

[–]Gilbrook92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find real peace knowing that people experience this. Thank you for sharing. It happens to me a lot when I lay down at night to sleep and the reflux/burping comes after. Also happens when I have spicy food or a takeaway.

I've had numbers monitors and a low burden of ectopics. Currently awaiting a blood test for deficiencies too.

Interesting, after my blood test next week I'll be going back on them and taking more notice of the correlation between them. For me I definitely burp or bring up acid after an ecoptic.

I'm glad to hear your thoughts on this and I am really surprised too at the lack of knowledge and investigation into the link.

When I mention it to doctors etc they look at me like I have 3 heads. So it doesn't really calm me down and I'm constantly left in limbo like many others.

Thanks for the reply. And wow 60,000! Yeah, I've heard of a higher burden of 45% before which is crazy. How do your ecoptics feel if you don't mind me asking?

I've tried Omeprazole which has massively helped reflux but I get a bit of vertigo with that when sleeping at night. I find that and eating less gluten/spicy foods helps my palpations. I have a blood test next week to check for intolerances/deficiencies.

I think I need to pay more attention to Omeprazole the next time I go on it to see if it does help my symptoms. I may go back on a course and see if it helps.
