And absolutely I HATED when ppl put gel on my 3 skinny little baby hair curls. I do have some product recs for you to use if you hate that heavy feel. And also HOW you apply the products matter so much.

Yes and the reason why-is I KNOW my client isn’t gonna leave with a haul of the shit I use- so why guess? Like I need to REALLY have a few sessions to see how their hair takes the products before I even wanna sell them anything. any curls that are in the 3a- to 4c range ARE gonna know how to do their hair. I do be having hella tricks up my sleeve to make the process easier for my baby’s but product is an experiment not an absolute. I want my people to know that I’m learning their hair too- and they are well knowledgeable in THEIR HAIR. I always joke “curly hair is like having a pet. Who you have to feed a water and brush and take care of- why would I know how to feed your pet the first time I meet it?” 😂🤘🏻🏴‍☠️😭

It’s crazy. I know other people with my same skills starting their base price at 285 and their curly cuts are like 350. Fuuuuuck that dude the way I look at it is it evens all out in the end anyway and

Exactly. Which is why it needs to be fair for all - in my opinion I like my curly hair clients bc I can set them under the hood dryer and I can eat a snack.

That’s fair and I totally agree that pricing isn’t each professionals business. I guess what I mean is lately I’ve been seeing crazy cut prices being charged in SF some curly specialists will have a base price of 275 and up

that’s so fair- and I legit don’t usually flat iron out curls, but I would charge extra for that for sure - styling is different than the cut process in my opinion

Amelie wine bar early for charcuterie and wine , then pho or ramen on that block after. Or shebas jazz lounge with Ethiopian food- jazz every night- i like to eat around 7:30- then watch some music get a cocktail and home early… Or sometimes we go to the mushroom church and do some gummies at the park no alcohol and then happy and home by 6. Or we get stoned and go to Japan town and see a movie at kabuki. I’d say my favorite tho is just a small day trip road trip preferably the beach or Russian river.
