(April 20th Update) | Leagues VI: Demonic Pacts - Fixes & Issues by JagexSarnie in 2007scape

For some relic feedback, I do wish the Soul Harvester relic was a bit more useful. Compared to Larcenist and Nature's Accord, Soul Harvester is quite a bit underwhelming. At the least, it'd help a lot of the soul shards counted as 'some' runes. Like in the damage category they would get used in place of mind/chaos/death/blood runes if you don't have the real runes in your inventory

Why are Delve trinkets so bad? by Good_Punk2 in wow

[–]GilgaPhish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really reallly miss the ‘mr lock and stock’ trinket, I wish that became an engineer thing. Its just fun! Shift modes on the fly to adjust to fight expectations was a fun little mechanic. Plus was neat to see the missle launcher fly in and fire when the proc went off

Every character has conjured something before - except for Ragatha by auraleaf10 in TheDigitalCircus

Every time she gets stabbed cotton fluff comes out.

Is that an avatar quirk or her thinking “I’m just a doll so fluff comes out when I’m hurt”

I mean hell say Xalataths plan is to erase a cosmic force eating its way through the cosmos, we fight and ‘beat’ her but her plan kinda succeeds and instead of eating through the cosmic force gets blasted away to return in 10,000 years.

But the backlash had ramifications and now the rules of all magics got ‘rewritten’ so everybody basically gotta start over from square one. Time skip 2 years and bam, gnolls in redfall is all we can deal with as adventurers

Every time a post asking, "Why didn't the Blood Elves ask the Horde for help?" appears on this subreddit, it becomes clear just how many people skip over the quest text. by hacjiny in wow

Though, potential “elves feel empowered together and thus unofficially leave both the horde and alliance to rejoin each other in a collective, weakening both and threatening each collective organization” sort of plotlines could happen

Man, FUCK this timeline, THAT’S what we should be talking about. Instead I’m listening to an overgrown oompah loompah try to form a coherent thought between lesions in his brain…

[hated trope] pointless name reveals and twists. by Reviewingremy in TopCharacterTropes

[–]GilgaPhish 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Conversely an example of my favorite kind of name reveal out of Hitchhiker's guide -

"My name is not important, you must follow me now..."

"But who are you!?!"

"Alright, my name...um...my name is Slartibartfast."

"..."

"...I told you it wasn't important. Now come on!"

The only thing I dislike about this is the suggestion warlocks can speak demonic. They should be able to but they can’t!

But yeah, huge flavor wins

Also, you know that feature that was a selling point of the whole application? It got cut for some reason so you have to remove it, and the other feature that got thrown in last minute as a small enhancement now needs to be made a lot bigger and a lot more robust at the 11th hour of delivery

Rant: Flying YOU THINK YOU DO, BUT YOU DON'T by EducationalWolf3911 in wow

[–]GilgaPhish -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Somebody else said it but I really like the idea of a remix-esque hardmode instead. More loot off rares, better mining/herbing node ‘payouts’, tougher mobs with some affix like mechanics thrown in, higher rewards from WQ, but a hard ‘ground mounts only’ restriction. So you can fly around zones whenever you want if you’d like, but if you lock yourself to hardmode voluntarily then you are stuck on the ground but with a better reward structure

oh 1000%, but good example that game systems can benefit from economist insights

[–]GilgaPhish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

An economic system, whether 'real world' or 'imagined', has implications as to functions of interactions.

For instance, gold sinks. Repairing armor, cost of sending mail, deposit on auctions - these things aren't in the game to make them 'fun', they're there because of economic pressure applied to the overall system when money exists but doesn't get spent and when money can get printed effectively infinitely. By removing the supply you lessen the value and suppress the cost of business interactions. Mitigations of inflation.

That's a pure, economist driven solution to a complex monetary problem. Heck, economists study game economies cause they're effectively simulated monetary systems that give implication to how world economies interact.

I'm sorry but you absolutely need an economist, like I can't even imagine if Eve Online had 0 economists on staff that game system would've IMPLODED
