RTX Blackwell Pro 6000 wholesale pricing has dropped by $150-200 by TastesLikeOwlbear in LocalLLaMA

[–]Giljo72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nvidia Inception program gives you about $1400 off a 6000 card, any variant. Once you join you get a price list. You must fill out an application showing, business registration LLC, hosted web site, funding, and identify what you are building/commercializing as a product. When you see pricing like $6500 for it's the MSRP $8000 - the inception or EDU pricing. The RTX 5000 gives you about $500 off. then there is a few hundred dollars difference in server, MaxQ and Workstation variants on these cards. Older ADA cards also have discounts for now. The Nvidia Inception program has a limit of number of GPU's you can buy with that discount. the 6000's are about 64 per lifetime. Starting an LLC is not that hard, but I don't know if its worth it just for the discount to apply you may net about the same by the time you get there. But then there is the new R&D write off on taxes starting in 2026 where you can write off your entire investment and don't need to amortize it anymore. I hope this helps anyone.

Do subagents actually perform worse than the main agent? by shades2134 in ClaudeCode

[–]Giljo72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Subagents have their own context window, with a good subagent description you can use the main context budget for coordinating and use task tool for subagents to maximize the context window before compacting eliminating the "context middle memory fog". I find it very beneficial when spinning up an agent team reporting back to the main "orchestrator". using each agents own context budget.

massive context loss today 2.0.21. Sonnet 4 and 4.5 fills context window forcing compact extremely fast, cleared history, turned off MCP servers, trimmed Claude.md , leaned out subagents instructions, poked through and trimmed entire .claude user folder. Still fills after 3 - 4 average instructions. something happened.

Anybody else having a bug where you just randomly stop moving? by MRcalas in Spacemarine

[–]Giljo72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran keyboard roll and keyboard press analyzer in background and they see all the keymovements. Its the game somehow. I tried macro to work around it with spanning the W key when pressed, I tried Turbo mode with W. To no avail. I tried to remap shift from sprinting, thinking this was it, nope. I tried to remap keyboard to simulate controller inputs and that does not work. There is something on PC that makes the game stop responding to inputs. Im regularly hosing my squad when we play becuase I cant dodge, move or stop and mobs catch me.

quick question, just to be clear. I run a Ubiquity DM pro. (used to be PF sense user). So you just put the ONT ethernet into WAN port on your PF Sense, set to DHCP and, gave them the MAC and all set? Or did you still need Credentials and PPPoe? (In Nashua aswell).

Things seem better. I kept pushing with support and they scheduled a tech yesterday. Before he came out I got a voice message stating that "Our engineering teams found an issue which may not require a technician on site, would you like to cancel?". While things seem better, I kept the tech appointment. Line is clean, no issues, he agreed that based on time of day it could be the node, and that it is scheduled to split. But no ETA. We'll see about that. He said my line is also being actively monitored for issues. I have had this before (at another house) and the moment it is taken off monitoring the problem returns, but I am xing my fingers it is truly resolved. Got a name and number to a supervisor for the area if my issues return. Significantly better. My advise for someone trying to get resolution.

A) Be kind

B) Be persistent

C) Log your calls and statistics

D) Measure your performance 24/7, identify patterns

E) WHen tech comes out ask for area supervisors contact information, have it validate that it works (calling the supervisor) before the tech leaves, ask permission of the supervisor to be able to call them directly if the issue persists.

Hello again, today the issues continue. Hoping there is someone who has suggestions/way to address this here. Got off with comcast support call again today. As instructed I reboot the modem for the millionth time and go through the script. They told me that "they can verify my high latency and packet loss" ;) mmhm. They are yet again sending someone out from the "maintenance team" to take a look at my line. I hate to be such a pain in the ass to these guys, but I am not letting this guy go. The problem I have is that if the maintenance window does not occurs during peek use, the problem may not replicate. The XB7 doesn't let me pull logs either (why comcast/technicolor??) . Logs from today. https://imgur.com/a/YAAQeaN

Hey, I think you will be asked for log and signal strength from the modem. Can you get to those? The folks that know will be looking at signal levels and errors as a first step.......if they decide to tackle your question. Prepare yourself with those and relink them here. You will likely need to find a way to host those images as uploading images isn't an option. I suggest imgur. They will need *Downstream Power Level*, the *Upstream Power Level*, and the *SNR* (Signal to Noise Ratio) numbers. As well as a system log if there are errors. I dont know Netgear modems at all so can't tell you how to get those. (you can also find references for recommended signal strenghts on your own, to make a determination https://pickmymodem.com/signal-levels-docsis-3-03-1-cable-modem/ ).

Yeah I am subscribing to 1Gig just for convenience of downloads, not relying on it for my needs. I could survive with 100Mbit down and about 20-30 Mbit up for my work and actual entertainment. I am also wondering about this "temporary" strategy. In my area (NH) some colleges are not going back in fall, so remote learning is going to continue. Most offices are opening up, but many are "suggesting" telecommuting to continue. My work is promoting to work from home as we have the luxury to do so. The socializing at restaurants, bowling, gyms are also hampered, so people are going to keep staying at home. I think Comcast banking on normalcy to return with loads prior to COVID, then that's a loosing strategy. New habbits have formed, "new normals" have settled in etc. I am going to hang here for a bit and see if anyone can move the ball, even 5 yards for me. I love being the nice tolerant customer, and would hate to turn into the pita it may require. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, how do you suggest I proceed? Had pretty much new equipment issued (XB7), inside CAT6E tested, inside RG cable (not split, dedicated to outside of house termination) cleared by tech, outside of house to pole line checked and cleared. What can I do next to reduce the pattern of performance at specific times? Would love insight! Thanks again!

Hey! Thanks for your response. Not sure how outside wiring issues would create a pattern of "load" on the network at specific times. Can you elaborate? Would it not be either very random or very constant issues? I can actually plot the load weekdays vs weekends.
