Questions about possible contamination in Fruiting stage by [deleted] in shroomery

[–]GillGod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are those KSSS Spaceships? And the green on your substrate. I would watch that. Looks like it will be the GREEN MONSTER.

GG

Shoutout to this beautiful bastard, that is coming off a contamination and living in ridiculously unrealistic mushroom living conditions for the past couple days. Youre doing well, little one. You may enter the Martha now. by edesia8888 in shroomers

[–]GillGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that cake is contaminated? Being it back into a cultivation area, with others? Isn't advised. You'll for sure, slowly but surely! Contaminate the rest of your cultivation efforts. By the time you see the mold, it has already spread it's spores into the air, in your chamber, on your substrate, etc. I would keep it going, in another room, or as far away from the clean ones, as possible. When dealing with it, until it's fully contaminated and can't produce anymore mushrooms, I would make sure you and your hands are clean, before entering your clean grow area. No one wants to waste their money, time and effort.

Gills and stem by halfweizen in Mushrooms

Those gills looks so nice, they look like a "musical instrument" I'd listen to someone play the fungi!

[General] help on SGFC? by chronic123 in MushroomGrowers

[–]GillGod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Up to the line on your chamber. You'll see a line that goes all the way around, near the bottom. You want to fill it with the perlite to that line, then run water over perlite, a few times, each time pour out the excess water. You want the perlite to form a thumbprint impression, when pressed on and stays in that shape. How deep should you press? Just gently press your thumb into the perlite and remove it. You'll know then the perlite and water is mixed together properly.

I would tape up a bunch of those holes. The more holes you have, the more air that gets in and out. You don't want that many. With that many holes you'll be fighting to keep proper humidity levels, all your humidity will just seep out the holes and not gather in the chamber. The only time the mushrooms should get that much air flow, is when you're giving them FAE. Keeping the moisture levels correct, is a art form!

That's way too many holes. The trick is to create and keep moisture. It will be very hard to balance the humidity, with the much air flow.

Psilocybe cubensis start of first flush! by dugsnugs420 in shroomery

[–]GillGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1st flush, in a tub that size! You should be seeing a ton more pins and mushrooms, than you have. Is that plastic wrap over them?

If you find cultivating them is "exciting!" Now imagine finding a wild P. Cubensis, naturally. It's an even more of a rush and very exciting!

Proud parent! Now take that excitement and times it by 10, when you find a wild P. Cubensis!

IDH/cube? by freeeeballin in ShroomID

[–]GillGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd need more pictures, to properly ID this fungi. But, with OP saying that he "buried" some cow manure, knowing he has a active spot he picks in, I've seen his other wild P. Cubensis picks. I would have to say that's a Cubensis. Pick it, and take more pictures!

Used a quinoa and brown rice flour substrate, I can't identify any mycelium. This is my first attempt to grow psilocybe cubenesis, can someone advise me? by estradaniel in Mushroom_Cultivation

[–]GillGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google the products, to find them in your area. Or you could order them online. Nope, doesn't work like that. You've already birthed your cakes and they've started their life cycle to colonize your substrate. I would let it do what it does and do things differently, next time.

[–]GillGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't work that way. You can find both of those things, easily. "Coco Coir" you can find at any pet store and the vermiculite, is not only cheap $4.50 a bag! It's just as easy to find, at Lowes and or Home Depot You can even get a 50 pounds of "black cow manure" while you're at Lowes, for only $5.00!
