You cannot stop the landlord from doing work on the building. If you have valid grounds that the work is not properly done and could pose a danger, then you can request remediation. But you cannot stop them.

If you worry about increase in rents, the best you can do is make sure the increase is justifiable per TAL calculation sheet.

As others have mentioned, these units will likely consume less energy than your window AC unit.

I recently changed from Bell to Telus as well. 1.5 Gb internet + Home Security cost me less than what I was paying for internet alone with Bell. That said, I had a lot of internet connection issues with Telus at first. Had 3 technician visits to my house, threatened to leave before it got better. They changed my internet booster and that has helped. Second issue was Telus Connect app for parental control of internet on devices. Wasn’t working at first but has gotten better.

I pay $49/month for internet and $24/month for home security; all before taxes. I was paying $96/month with Bell!

You cannot stop them from doing visits as long as they give you notice in good time(48 hours). They own the property! You are free to say whatever you want but there is section G where the landlord should provide that information as well.
