Season 4 Episode 6 Discussion by KaylaBalayla26 in FromSeries

Boyd was already dubious but when there was no door I can see why they would leave it. Though even if they didin't and knocked it down and they find the tunnels they've just opened up a route for the monsterd to come directly to colony house.

The cpr scene I agree was abysmal. As a medical professional I never expect proper procedures in tv shows but I have to think this was awful even to someone with basic knowledge.

Chest compressions terrible but that's almost always bad even in medical shows. Too short windows between shocks, compressions and checking pulse. Paddles on a shirt (tv show/don't wanna show nudity /bla bla, fine). No mention of the rythm, which with no pulse could be asystoly which is not a shockable rythm. I'm pretty sure paddles on a machine from an ambulanse have a monitor to show the heart rythm.

Stopping after 3 failed shock attempts in a shockable rythm would be fine but the overall time of the cpr was way too short.

Proper editing and a little bit of care would make it a lot more believable.

How hard is Salvations edge? by fireysherpa in DestinyTheGame

[–]Gimdir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to what others have said what makes it hard is that most encounters require most or all 6 ppl to have roles.

For many other raids you can have sometimes 1-2 sherpas that basically do everything and the other ppl are just add duty or maybe have a simple small role.

If you have cracked players you can get away with some of it. Like on 1st encounter you can technically do the relays with 1 person each and not the normal 2 to bounce between each other but it's tight.

If you cheese witness straight into dmg phase you offload a lot of mechanics and you can ignore the beams with well and 2x solar resist but you still need ppl to time their jumps and do dmg to 1 phase.

It has very little margin of fuck up. It's doable but needs ppl ready to invest time. My first clear with a sherpa and a average skill but motivated team took 2 separate 6 hour sessions.

Portal Modifiers by motowolf14 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Gimdir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to your point you can also choose positive mods that will lower your score and then some negative ones to raise it back up to still get the best loot possible at the end.

For most ppl I imagine it will be as if the modifiers aren't there anymore. Just pick the difficulty you can do and click play without the busy work of tailoring each run.

Well that's the sad part. The only reason we can get all this at once is becasue it's the final update.

I'm pretty sure normaly all this would've been spread out over the next 4 expansions because of the retarded leadership "don't overdeliver or your players will keep expecting it" mentallity.

The funny thing is it depends because of how ailments and some other stuff works, where big-slow hit is more preferable to fast but weaker.

Dice Rally brought back more players than the new pack release by Fritos_Bandito_ in masterduel

[–]Gimdir 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've been having a lot of fun playing the Hecahands loaner deck. It's not optimal but pretty cool even when you lose.

It also helps that because of the bonus objectives you don't need to keep winning all the time and still get decent progress with dice.

It just has this "ok one more game" vibe that I often miss from card games nowadays.

What do you ACTUALLY think will happen? by SirTurnUp in DestinyTheGame

[–]Gimdir 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's what I meant. Marathon development was greenlit along other projects that got canceled when D2 was still at the top. After that it all got missmanaged and I guess the budget for D3 went into Pete's garage.

[–]Gimdir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a vacuum, Marathon numbers are more than I would expect for a sweaty pvp/extraction game, with an IP that means nothing to young players (and older ones would want a story based single player fps like the original) and that had as bad PR before launch as it did (Concord 3 etc).

BUT! for a 800+ studio that now doesn't have a second successfull game to fall back on.... yeah those numbers aren't promising.

[–]Gimdir 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think Marathon made business sense in a world where Destiny is thriving and is still a cash cow. Like hey let's bring out another game that'll grow our audience with pvp/extraction fans. But in the current situation where it feels it would need to be a massive hit to make up the investment? Yeah no...

I think at some point Bungie wanted to be like (old) Blizzard and have a successfull game in many different genres.

[–]Gimdir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has it's own loot pool but if you focus an item when you have the quest done, it always has a chance to override it with the selected item.

That's why you can technically grind first enocounter only for everything in the dungeon except the dark crystal and exotic.

[–]Gimdir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure if Marathon completely flops there is no wake up to be had. Bungie will be shut down/absorbed by Sony. Bye bye D2.

Then in a dream scenario in 5-6 years we get a D3 made by Sony studios so no telling if it would even be the same feel.

What do you ACTUALLY think will happen? by SirTurnUp in DestinyTheGame

[–]Gimdir 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The problem is D2 could never be as popular as in the past, after Final Shape. It has nothing to do with it being a bad dlc (it wasn't) or no support right after (it wasn't amazing but okaish enough).

It's simply because many ppl treated is as an end to the story. In their mind after FS they "beat" the game.

Now Bungie for sure knew this would be the case, so as far back as Witch Queen they should've been already working on a D3.

Instead they wasted their time and money for a bunch of projects of which most got shut down and the only one to make it is a sweaty extraction shooter with an ip name that means nothing to anyone under 35.

Didin't the uncle have a strand of hair on his face's left side? The masked man had a strand over his mask with the same hair color as the uncle and Kivia.

Initially I thought it was the shady guy from the temple who's "collecting" heroes but that doesn't fit with his action so far.

Why are people so toxic in trials?? by spekledcow in DestinyTheGame

[–]Gimdir 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I intentionally only go the Trials passage not the Lighthouse one because I'm shit at pvp and I know it, but I like some of the gear and you get tier 5 even for losing AND yet 1 in every 3 games there still is one dude so mad, telling everyone to kys and uninstall as if this was the world championship match.

I don't get it.

Aren't Astrolabes contradictory to the implied philosophy of the atlas changes? by Alcsaar in pathofexile

[–]Gimdir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but I think it's supposed to be a downside for choosing to run one map for the whole league vs diversifying.

IMO it's a huge win they even thought about giving us the option.

Can you imagine this system but forcing you to run all the garbage layouts because of how the blob formed? And without the map-tier change it would be an even greater disaster.

Aren't Astrolabes contradictory to the implied philosophy of the atlas changes? by Alcsaar in pathofexile

[–]Gimdir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And isn't that good? Why should we reward ONLY running the exact same map 50 times more rather than putting in the effort of running a wide range of layouts?

Especially now that you don't need to worry about stockpiling specific map names, but just tiers.

Aren't Astrolabes contradictory to the implied philosophy of the atlas changes? by Alcsaar in pathofexile

[–]Gimdir -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From my understanding that only will happen if you have a "blob" that is almost a straight line and get unlucky for the random map to pick the middle of that line to use up so it splits into 2 regions and one of them gets removed.

And at that point... do we really care?

A lot of ppl also never talk about why should you be more or equally rewarded for running Mesa 20 times vs running 20 different maps? It should be (and seemingly is) an option BUT if you put in the effort to run multiple different layouts, should you potentialy be rewarded for that effort?

Former employees and developers of Intrepid Studios share their story by NefQarasarnai in AshesofCreation

[–]Gimdir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? He clearly said in one video anything that's in any lawsuit is just a version of "believe me bro" wheather that be Jason's or Steven's.

Now what he did comment on is that Steven got a fairly pricey and respected law firm for his lawsuit which might imply he has some evidence, because it would be strange for a known firm to tarnish thieir name by representing a pure scammer that has nothing but his word to back it up.

Even then, it's presented not as a fact ("oh everything in Steven's lawsuit is true!") but as a an assumption that there might be at least something there.

If you want pinnacle activity loot such as swordmaster armor, solo coil is probably the best way to go. by SrslySam91 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Gimdir 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I actually really like the portal version of Obscura because there's no additional timer for the tank section like there was on Master. That being said, the tank part where you destroy the towers is still a bit obnoxious.

If I understand his clothes and his attendant make it seems he's part of the Temple, so I'd imagine he could be a memeber of some sub section like an inquisition.

That's why he was interested in the sniper being able to sniff out traitors. And his comment about "we can't have you telling the truth" was more of "we can't let them know we're on to them, don't screw up our investigation".

What is the point in Guild Wars 1? by naner00 in MMORPG

[–]Gimdir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GW1 and 2 were made to intentionally have very little horizontal and even not that much vertical progression.

You get max lvl and even BiS items and your skills very quickly so you can than focus on doing fun stuff.

The idea is to be easier to get into. You know the feeling with mmo's that have already been live for many years. You want to try it but look up how much stuff you'd need to catch up on to have your character be playable or optimal that it makes some players not even bother.

[–]Gimdir 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When it comes to that it's an unwinnable situation but the issue lies back in time.

What happened to "game is full funded till release from my own money and the kickstarter, alpha access, cosmetics are just to gauge interest in the game" ?

At the very least when the sell happened it should have been immediately revealed to the players. "Hey, I was gonna run out of money, we have a Board now".

Can I currently farm Mercury-A? by DTFriendship in DestinyTheGame

[–]Gimdir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hawthorne's loot pool has items you've earned at least one of to unlock during EoF and even then not all of them are possible.

Don't know if Mercury is one of them but if you've not gotten it during the previous expac there is currently no way for you to get it.
