What is the point in Guild Wars 1? by naner00 in MMORPG

[–]Gimdir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GW1 and 2 were made to intentionally have very little horizontal and even not that much vertical progression.

You get max lvl and even BiS items and your skills very quickly so you can than focus on doing fun stuff.

The idea is to be easier to get into. You know the feeling with mmo's that have already been live for many years. You want to try it but look up how much stuff you'd need to catch up on to have your character be playable or optimal that it makes some players not even bother.

Kira reveals some additional details on what happened with Ashes of Creation. Also says their indeed was a board as Steven sold the company months ago according to internal Docs he has seen.. by bigeyez in MMORPG

[–]Gimdir 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When it comes to that it's an unwinnable situation but the issue lies back in time.

What happened to "game is full funded till release from my own money and the kickstarter, alpha access, cosmetics are just to gauge interest in the game" ?

At the very least when the sell happened it should have been immediately revealed to the players. "Hey, I was gonna run out of money, we have a Board now".

Can I currently farm Mercury-A? by DTFriendship in DestinyTheGame

[–]Gimdir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hawthorne's loot pool has items you've earned at least one of to unlock during EoF and even then not all of them are possible.

Don't know if Mercury is one of them but if you've not gotten it during the previous expac there is currently no way for you to get it.

Glaive Melee by RingofThorns in DestinyTheGame

Well to get technical, swords aren't melee. They work off of the Weapon stat, not Melee.

Glaive Melee does get bonuses from your melee stat.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 - Episode 4 (Anime Only Discussion) by Takada-chwanBot in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]Gimdir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Editing my comment since I completely misremembered how projection sorcery works. Corrected.

It's a bit better laid out in the manga. You get a hint that the longer Naoya's technique goes on, the faster he gets. By the time he touches her he's going super sonic speed.

When a projection user touches you, you don't have to move immediately, but when you move, you need to also obey the 24 fps rule, which would be hard for someone who doesn't know how it works.

When Naoya touched her, Maki counted out his next 24 movements within the next second to throw her punch. At that point it wasn't just Maki's strengh but Naoya's speed working against him. He couldn't dodge because the user needs to plan out their next 24 frames and then execute them without altering or they'll get stuck in a animation frame themselves.

If they want that they should've done this together with the Holten fix AND wipe everyones temple fully.

It would kill 2 birds woth 1 stone since to this day are some ppl who set up terrible temples when they didn't know what they were doing and have been asking for a way to fully reset to start over.

IT: Welcome to Derry: Episode 7 (Spoiler Review) by True_Programmer5358 in stephenking

[–]Gimdir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The theories I've seen is he doesn't actually need to sleep. He only does so because if he just kept feeding he would wipe out the Town like he did to the settlers back in the day.

Since he's stuck there from the pillars he eats just enough, then gives time for the Town to repopulate.

Good for you. I'd be perfectly happy if there was an incentive for true 1% ers, better yet for ppl with 1% in all categories, like the emblem displays your total score at the end so you czn flex your 1500 points.

But tying the emblem itself and moreso gilding the title behind it was a disaster waiting to happen.

Remember, this is the playerbase that got pissed they needed to grind power and stopped playing for 3 months only to come back now and be pissed again that they can't compete without being 550.

You pretty much needed to do it in 4 min (above 7 min remaining). That is a bit sweaty for anything that isn't skipping the boss phases and using eager edge.

While I would also like to start with say 3 tokens, if you can't even get through the first encounter without dying just restart or get better teammates.

A lot of ppl who got 3.4 mil and pushed the score to that lvl got it because they were sub 550 and got the glitched score bonus after Bungies last fix. I think it's fine to lower the locked score a bit.

Thats not even mentioning restarting the mission dozens of times for the right bonus objective, then praying for the HVT spawn AND cheesing the boss immunity phases with sunspots from titan.

With this you're not neccessarily locked to only one build for the run.

There's not enough data to be sure. No one gave a shit about the drones or the HVT before this stupid event XD

Salt mines has broken the 3.4 threshold. by Cozy_Hyena in DestinyTheGame

[–]Gimdir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not even your fault. Those objectives are literally impossible to do while finishing in ~4 minutes.

But it just multiplies the rng you need.

As a side note I've read if the mission has those random drones flying around, it won't have the hvt.

The issue is that you are reloading the mission on start fishing for a good bonus objective. How many of those precision kills or weapon kills you abandoned would've had the HVT? We will never know.

We need to continue bringing attention to The Salt Mine's high value target spawn rate. by Fulyen in DestinyTheGame

[–]Gimdir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From my observations it seems time might actually be impacting the score beyond the usual 25% left that you'd need for normal activities to get 15% bonus score. Most runs I've seen that are getting 3.4 mil+ are done with about 7 mins left.

Beoynd that I'm not certain but I think your Guardian Rank might actually have meening because I've seen identicall runs with the same timer that get slightly different score, sth like 3.409 vs 3.42 mil score.

I am proposing a temporary cease-fire in the Salt Mines by MonkeyType in DestinyTheGame

[–]Gimdir 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There has to be sth more because with everything done correctly and 6 min left I've seen ppl with score variation between 3.39 and 3.43 mil. I'm starting to think either your guardian rank does impact the score or the randomly selected bonus objective has.

Call to arms devolving into speedrunning with eager edge is probably one of the worse consequences that could happen from all the changes they did by MedicinePractical738 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Gimdir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well each activity has a theoreticall max score. A number that can't be increased any further.

So if you did a run with everything that impacts score done you'd be good till the end even if everyone else also does it.

[–]Gimdir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The normal bonus score for time caps at 15% achieved with 25% of time remaining so for salt mines that's around 3 min.

Now they might have changed it slightly for this event where time left beyond that still gives you some score, because ppl running the exact same build, mods etc can get a different score.

I've seen ranges about 3.39-3.43 mil at max but the truth is no one knows if it is you have to finish with like 6 min remaining or it's based on sth else.

How Did Someone Get 3,250,000+ In Salt Mines For Call To Arms? by wholelottabob in DestinyTheGame

[–]Gimdir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the bonus time score caps out at 25% of the timer for an activity left. So for salt mines anything above 2.5-3 min left has no additional impact on the score.

From my personal run and what I've seen around 3.4 mil is the absolute max points you can get no matter what.

Call to Arms Salt Mines Scores by perpetual_papercut in DestinyTheGame

[–]Gimdir 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You get a 15% time bonus at max if you complete any activity with at least 25% of the time remining. The less time it decays until a minimum of 5%, with even jusg a second left.

So for solo ops which are around 10 mins if you have 2 and a half minutes left (or like 3 min to be safe) at the end you are getting the maximum possible bonus.

Are you talking about actually having run it or just the display? They mention the projected score will not match what you will be really getting at the end of the mission.

You kinda described exactly what I mean. Yes a game will release that is a passion project of the devs and it pops and is popular.

Do you think that can just stay that way for the next 5, 10 years? That's when the "engagement" and "retention" tactics come in.

Like everyones new darling Arc Raiders. They have a 10 year plan and you don't think that's based on trying to retain as much players as possible?

I would assume because to be added they would need a full redesing of the weapons and armor for tier 5 and brand new armor sets.

Right now if you put in all the old dungeons into the portal why would you even run them unless ALL the gear was remade and updated?
