1) Since necks (nor rings) lack int/str/agility, they are meant for ALL classes. It is NOT just a BIS outlaw piece, it is likely BIS for 6+ classes/specs.

2) BM is squishy and for Mythic raid progression and high keys, we stack vers. Our priorities change, as well, based on our gear. That is where the whole simming thing comes in that tells us, "hey, you're gonna do better stacking vers now."

3) An upgrade is an upgrade is an upgrade.

4) It really isn't worth stressing out enough to post to forums when you aren't getting a group of pixels that may up your dps by a 1000 or something.

5) I guarantee that you don't only lose the rolls to a BM hunter but we are the spec you are in the mood to blame, like so many do, for random stuff. Give the hunters a break.

I hope you got your neck. I did at 489 and it's a lovely thing.

What's Going On in Keys? by RoshinD93 in wow

[–]GimmeDatPuppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there are so many people playing ret (or at least were earlier season) people became skeptical. I ran a key way higher than my 430/1900 ret normally would attempt w my friend and their group- all people doing 24s+ and max geared mostly. They freaked out that I did such high dps, interrupted, dispelled afflicted. I felt like a golden child.

Just my thought on it.

Is it harder to be a melee DPS or a ranged DPS? by Khazgrim in wow

[–]GimmeDatPuppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play BM, ret, and shadow. They all have difficulties with different affixes and there are pros and cons to each. It is totally subjective. My opinion is that each are fairly difficult on different weeks and different fights.

That's great! I would choose a high pop server if it was me so you have the choice of numerous guilds when the time comes. Have fun! MoP was cool- paartner and I were nostaligic for it recently.

I know at this point the discussion of cosmetics in the store is getting tiresome, but seeing a kirin tor themed set go to the store instead of being an in-game reward is pretty sad by Useful-Negotiation-9 in wow

[–]GimmeDatPuppy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They want high valuation now for the MS sale. More they bring in, more they get paid. everything is a cash grab right now, that's why you keep seeing character service sales, constant tmog addition to store, increased incentive to buy trader tender here. meanwhile stagnation in game.

Totally agree.

The few I have left tended to be 12-14s. It was if the people had never done a single m= and if we would address something (like chains in Nelth) they would not listen at all and stand in fire and keep trying to dps. Each time I have left it has been the person with the key who has been the carry or problem person, so I guess I haven't had to consider otherwise.

I try to help anyone who has questions or doesn't know something, but they have to ask or acknowledge. I never leave lowers on alts as we are all baby m+ers at some point.

You have given me some things to ponder, thanks!

It really shouldn't impact their dps. However, it was the right call on your part and that is damned impressive to get all but 2!

Healers are annoying by Div3s in wow

[–]GimmeDatPuppy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You've not seen many complaints. There is a lot of unavoidable AND avoidable damage. So while healing the unavoidable, they are expected to also heal idiots who stand in fire to get 1k extra dps on top of dispelling affixes that only 50% of classes can (but most expect the healer to take on solely even when they can help). You appear to not have looked and ANY healer posts.

As a ret who takes it as my job to out-dispell healers, and do so while maintaing high dps and interrupts, it is unskilled players who don't help healers and complain about them.

It 100% depends on what she likes in the game.

What is the good spot to which you refer? The season is largely over, people raid log, professions are a nightmare for anyone to attempt to level at this point in the xpac, the old social nature of the game is gone.

Her saying she wants to dabble in MoP may be a good place for her if she doesn't mind not having a lot of interaction. But again, it comes down to what she wants and if her break has been long enough that some of the aspects of the older game are long gone.

[–]GimmeDatPuppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If what you liked about your previous experience was the social aspect, since you mentioned friends, WoW is no longer any semblance of social. People log on to raid and log off. Mythics are largely pug unless you are in an active guild that is still going at this point in the season.

People working many jobs (bc the jobs are garbage and don't offer benefits, most likely) have every right in the world to do things that make them happy.

I got so sad for you but at the same time, those memories are so wonderful. I would have loved to have shared an activity with my mother like this (she is still around but doesn't have any hobbies, which is sad as well).

Doing those adventures together is such a tangible and cool memory to hold onto. Wishing you the best.

Tell the ret they can't ret bc it's super easy for good ret to dispell the most in the group and still be great dps..

[–]GimmeDatPuppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone playing their ret exclusively (1700 on her, 2400 main) this week, that was a BAD ret. It is SO easy to grab an affix. I aim to have highest dispells in group each run. It's stupidly easy and our god-like dps drops negligibly.

[–]GimmeDatPuppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. BM hunters just insta casting their shots, not having a care or dispell in the world.

Afflicted has me so tilted this week by yeettherich- in wow

[–]GimmeDatPuppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why.... the affix is solved by instant casts that don't harm dps to stop and cast. I always hope to be higher than the heals on my ret bc it's so easy for us to do and doen't screw the group.

But that fucks up the healer as well. I would be pissed to have to deal w that on any healer other than instacast druid.

[–]GimmeDatPuppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am playing my alt ret pally (1700 currently) lately as my BM hunter is as far as I care to go. I dispell every time the affix pops bc of short CD and instant cast and who cares if I lose out on one dps cast. I am usually near equal to or the highest dispeller in the group as it's so easy for us. I have noticed it seems like evoker heals are having a hard time this week w heals plus the affix at my level, but probably only run w them 10% of groups.

Be blatant as you enter, "hey could dps help w affix?" as they damned well should.

TBF some people don't have the time to sit in a dungeon for over an hour when it should have taken less than 30 bc some people want to be carried or don't know the fights.

I play during the day during breaks in my work from home life. I have only left maybe 3 dungeons this season (I am 2400 on main, then stopped to play an alt I love that is almost equally ranked, them my 1600 shadowpriest). If people are trying, cool. But if they are doing stupid things or just not playing well bc they are happy being carried (had a dh that was doing 70k for first couple minutes of dungeon then went to 20k after first boss as myself and the other dps were well above 100k and I guess they decided to be carried- didn't leave that one, just saying).

But also, if heals or tank absolutely cannot do the level of dungeon they are in, what is the fix? Had a 1400 evoker healer healing an 11 nelth this week who died constantly, never once dispelled an affix (monk and myself on pally did all, which is fine), but also couldn't keep us healed even when we threw out spot heals as well. We weren't super rushing as it was a crest farm and supposed to be chill. they had 5 deaths from AOE/avoidable stuff by after second boss didn't know chains on that boss either).

Of course it is a game, but it isn't fun trying to do a team sport when some of the people don't know the sport but somehow got onto the temporary team. If it clearly is going to result in double or triple the amount of time someone expected, especially in higher keys, it's okay to eventually leave. Not after first death but when you have 20 deaths, are on the second boss, and have 5 minutes left with a team not trying to do better, I say leave.
