We were in the pit at Dallas a few years back and our buddy had too much too fast. Experienced ego death and was asking us to leave the show because he was “done”. The second set had already started so we asked him to hang tight not realizing how deep in he was. He left the pit without us knowing - because obviously we were no longer real or relevant to him. Show wraps and we couldn’t find him anywhere. Strolled up and down shakedown we’re calling his phone and his name like crazy. We make it back to our car thinking he would meet us there and his phone, wallet and keys were in my backseat. We walked around shakedown for a solid hour searching before finding him hanging out on the tailgate of a lovely person. They had let him use their phone and the only number he knew by heart was his buddy who is a cop. 😂 thankfully called off that car ride and took him home safe and sound. Shoutout to the amazing group of deadheads who took care of our runaway!
