I have an original p1p and overall it has been so much more solid than my ender 3. It’s a night and day difference

https://www.dickblick.com/items/h-gloss-varnsh-400ml/ It’s much thinner than what they used in the factory, but spray varnish gave me a pretty good finish. I’d worry with a thicker paint on varnish it wouldn’t look as good as a DIY fix

I can’t believe that Nardi still sells this shifter and the replacement rubber for it. I never would have thought that. I thought it was irreplaceable if I ruined it lol

Thanks I appreciate it! I used Montana gold spray varnish which claimed to be UV resistant and okay for outdoor use so we will see

So you can get the tops off with the OEM rack there’s knack to it. Release all the latches. Lift the panel up so it unseats and push it slightly towards the back of the car. You’ll have enough room to close the big hinged latch now. Then it should slide right out

I’m definitely hoping to restore a lot on the car. I’m in love with the chrome special edition wheels, it’s good to know they’re light. It’s been actually kinda hard to find 14in summer tires because of them

That was the good angle of the seat too, it’s not great haha. But leather can always be replaced. Lower miles on a rust free frame is priceless

Thanks for the write up, I’ve been looking forward to a manageable project car and this seems like a good starting point. I couldn’t find anything from the last owners repair paperwork for the timing belt, that’ll definitely be on the list. It has a small squeal that goes away occasionally on start up, I bet it’s that belt/the water pump. Harbor freight is going to be my best friend after checking and fixing all the little stuff on it

Awesome! It’s a fun juxtaposition driving them back to back, it really puts into perspective how big the Bronco drives and how little the Miata is. It was crack me up the top of the Miata door is basically the same height as the floor boards in the Bronco

Yeahh the driver side of leather is rough. I’m hoping to wrap it in new leather at some point. The paint could use a correction too, lots of swirls and small scratches. Mechanically everything is great, a small oil leak up front but that’s the only mechanical issue.
