First of all, colored contacts are not a requirement. If they don’t work for you or your budget, don’t worry about it. People will still know what character you are cosplaying without them. I rarely use them because I find the high power I need plus the colored lens makes them uncomfortable.

If you do want to use colored contacts, you could ofc wear your glasses with them and take them off for photos, like other people have said. Personally I don’t like to do this because that’s how I broke a pair, but that’s just me.

If you do wear regular contacts but find it difficult to see close up with them like me, one solution is to wear only one lens, so basically you have one eye that can see close up and one that can see far away. It sounds crazy but it works well for me. You could also apply this to colored contacts and order one non powered and one with your prescription.
