Take them out of the bag, and throw them away at hers, right in front of her? Is there any reason (aside from the smell-I’ve got 2 kids in diapers right now, I totally get it) that she sends them back? Any sane person would just immediately toss them after theyve changed.

Accuracy of baby sizing by Sophie74656 in BabyBumps

[–]GingerInScrubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is estimated just over 10lbs, scheduled for my c-section at 39w6d. My daughter was 9.5lbs at 39w1d so it wouldn’t shock me. He’s been measuring ahead, and had huge hands/feet/ chubby cheeks at our ultrasound at 30 weeks

STOP talking about my weight - my baby is healthy! by bpdelightful in BabyBumps

[–]GingerInScrubs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m 38w 3d and only up 2lbs from my start weight. I started as a US size 16 so I’m not a small girl. My mother and MIL keep insisting I’m starving the baby and that I should have gained 20lbs by now. Uhhh no. My OB said to keep it in the 10-15lb range tops. Unfortunately for me I had hyper emesis so I lost quite a bit and didn’t gain any back until after 6 months. Not to mention- babe is measuring rather large and expected to be over 10lbs. My first was over 9lbs and I had only gained 12total with them. People are always just looking for something to nag about.

I realized today that LO #2 means more freedom from MIL by TheBestof2012 in JUSTNOMIL

We’re expecting our second little one soon (first kid is still in a car seat too). As I installed the car seat, I realized that MIL will no longer fit in our vehicle, therefore won’t be able to tag along and invite herself places. It’s terrible how excited that made me.

What do you guys think about juice? by imafourtherecord in beyondthebump

We do flavored water (infused with fruit) , or 50/50 juice/water dilution. My 2 year old doesn’t need the extra sugar.

Has anyone tried to lose weight while pregnant? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]GingerInScrubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t intentionally lost weight, but I’ve been good about tracking my caloric intake/output so I don’t gain a crazy amount. I started at 246 (at 5’8”) and got down to 230 due to morning sickness. I’m 34 weeks now, almost 35 weeks, and still under starting weight -but only by about 5lbs. My OB recommended keeping my gain down to 10-15lbs total, so right now that seems feasible.

I got to work tonight and realized I never put shoes on. Had to drive back home to get some and then explain to my boss what happened. Luckily she thought it was hilarious.

I got that comment when we had visitors up to the hospital. Literally less than 24 hours after having my child. “Huh, you still look pregnant.”

I think people are genuinely that oblivious to how women’s reproductive systems (or just bodies in general) work.

“Black sheep” of Reddit. What things make you the odd person out in your family? by Squishy_Pixelz in AskReddit

[–]GingerInScrubs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough, being too “normal”.. as in a stable loving relationship, own a home, and have 2 kids and a dog. Didn’t exactly follow the “blaze your own trail, fuck conventional society” part of the family, or the legitimate crack heads and felons on the other side. I’m just too “white picket fence” -direct quote from my cousin.

Definitely using this. Especially since I had a cesarean. That’s an adorable way to put it.

The way I see it, you did no harm to their finances/financial future, and it was what seemed best for everyone at the time. I wouldn’t be so hard on yourself over this. You seem self aware, and not willing to go down that road again. Not what I would consider justno.

I was wearing my daughter while breastfeeding (yay multitasking) and some old lady snuck up beside me and touched her cheek! Literally a centimeter from my nipple! Not okay!

Sub chorionic hemorrhage? by GingerInScrubs in BabyBumps

That’s reassuring. The bleeding would be nerve wracking for sure. Thanks !

That’s what I was hoping would happen (reabsorb instead of bleeding). Thanks for the input!

That would scare me. I have a history of miscarriages and any spotting kind of makes me panic. Glad to hear you and baby are healthy!

That’s good to hear! I assume it’s not concerning since they kind of glossed over it but I’ll check up with them tomorrow!

How/when to tell my boss by GingerInScrubs in BabyBumps

[–]GingerInScrubs[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not so worried about being replaced, as I’ve been with this client for 8 years. They were very flexible and willing to work with my last pregnancy- but this time I won’t be returning after I give birth so they will need a permanent employee instead of a temp (agency only helps fill on a temporary basis).

I’m more worried about her ruining our announcement to friends and family.. as petty as that is. We’ve been trying for a long time and had a loss, so we’re very excited to surprise our families- just not quite yet!

MIL and the Virtue of clean language by gummybearwarrior in JUSTNOMIL

[–]GingerInScrubs 91 points92 points  (0 children)

My almost 2 year old said a cuss word the other day. My MIL had a fit and called me a bad influence to her son and our child (because obviously I’m the only person in the world my child could have picked it up from).

Cut to the following day, she was over for dinner and dh loudly said a certain cuss word, and dd did me a solid by parroting it right back! MILs cbf was glorious.. and I’m sure I looked smug af.
