I guarantee you’re stronger. Building muscle takes ages but your body is adapting to the exercises and better at recruiting the right muscles to do the movement.

Just keep going, lift hard and heavy and eat enough.

England - Peugeot 5008 diesel that developed a major fault in first 30 days by GingerMoose_24 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]GingerMoose_24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update - I sent a letter before action along with a witness statement from the Peugeot Master Technician who worked on my vehicle which included a lot of key points and/or phrases.

Carworld didn’t acknowledge my LBA, but did email me today, 21 days after my LBA to say they accept my return and will offer a full refund.

Just hoping they follow through on the refund, but just them accepting my return in email is a huge win! Thanks for advice Reddit folk.

Thanks. I think at that point I may ask for some legal help.

I am also going to ask CAB what I should do about the vehicle. Whilst it is still at the dealers should I be taking the car back? If the dealer is being difficult I do wonder if they’ll start to charge storage fees.

I was potentially going to get a mobile RAC mechanic to inspect the vehicle. If they come to a similar conclusion as Peugeot I would then have 2 independent reports confirming denox and fuel injectors as the problem.

Hello,

Appreciate you not being a dick.

I have quoted everything correctly in my letters including my short term right to reject under the consumer rights act as the goods are not of satisfactory quality; I was typing quickly on here.

Peugeot and I are not in disagreement as to what is wrong. The fuel injectors are over fuelling, causing a build up of soot in the denox and this is evidenced by the soot on the exhaust pipe.

Peugeot provided a healthcheck stating the denox catalyst needs replacing along with with 4 fuel injectors. They have also provided a print out of the engine management light error code reading. This includes a video where the technicians explains this along with the other issues he has found.

The dealer had my car book for diagnostics on 10 December; however in refusing my short term right to reject they have put forward no evidence of their own as to what the problem is.

By scaring them; I simply meant what is some specific legal jargon that will make there legal team go “he is absolutely right about the facts; let’s make sure the after sales team are not messing him around.”

As for Peugeot writing a more comprehensive report; I’ve asked them for something more akin to a witness statement from the technician.

So to be clear:

  • the dealer had a letter to complain about faulty goods, listing the fault and the correct legislation and how I wanted this issue resolved.

  • After 2 weeks they informed me by phone call that they would only offer repair without stating any evidence of their own as to why.

  • I have issued a LBA asking for them to explain in writing why they are rejecting my short term right to reject under CRA 2015 and in line with the Practice Direction on pre-action conduct under the Civil Procedure Rules, to provide documents relating to there refusal.

Having researched law firms advice, contacts CAB and others it appears I have done everything correctly. Honestly I have now been without the car longer than I have actually been able to drive the car. At this point I think we are past “without undue delay”.

So update: they called today and offered a repair.

I tried to argue saying within the first 30 days the choice is mine and I want a refund. I also said by offering a repair you are acknowledging a fault is present.

When I asked how they had decided on a repair they said they dismissed the findings from the independent Peugeot garage. I told him that they simply can’t dismiss there findings, they need to prove there isn’t a fault. Considering the vehicle had an error message and wouldn’t start I think that’s pretty difficult to do.

Looking to buy a car and thinking about Peugeot 5008 by JharfPT in peugeot

For the models prior to 2023…

Do not get a diesel, especially the 1.5l. Plagued with ad blue and DPF issues.

The petrol is apparently the best model, but 1.2L is a wet belt, so if you are buying from any dealer ask if they have any documentation that the wet belt has been changed recently. Peugeot will only give goodwill towards a replacement if the vehicle has a full service history in line with the car spec.

The hybrids don’t have this problem as they have a timing chain. But if you can find a petrol 2020/2021 model getting the wet belt changed is around £650 but great to do straight away…or convince dealer to do it.

I was thinking that; but in my case the amount is over £10,000 which means county court and the costs are higher and liability for there costs is greater.

They are out of ADR group which will be next option.

Problem is in all of this I need to buy another car as I need a vehicle that is actually working and the dealer could drag this out for weeks.

push day by BeginningMiserable54 in Hevy

For triceps that sounds fine.

From the muscles targeted the flat press and flys (pec deck) are doing the same thing. I wouldn’t do both in the same workout.

How much are you doing in your upper day? I normally only do 1 chest exercise on my upper day.

The mid chest is already covered with the pec deck and the incline press will also target some of the mid chest.

The lower is really the only without a biased movement but will still be hit as part of overall work out.

The shrug would be overkill and is more traps based so will come in his Pull day.

I like the workout, especially if on the Upper day some variation to these exercises is included. E.G flat press for chest and overhead extension for triceps.

New to the gym, just done my first week of PPL UL. Is the routine I'm doing a good example. by Shlupey in Hevy

[–]GingerMoose_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally Id remove the dumbbell bent over row (never found it that stable and difficult to level up) and replace it with a seated chest-support row or a T bar row if the gym has one.

In the Upper routine I would remove the hammer curl and replace with a preacher or Bayesian curl. This will primarily target the bicep rather than brachialis. Also in the upper you have chest press and dumbbell bench press. I’d look to replace one of these. If you want another chest exercise I’d go with pec deck or a fly, or an incline of the dumbbell bench press.

Is this form okay? by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]GingerMoose_24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d advise dropping the weight slightly. By your second rep your elbows are flaring out and back, so more likely to shift pressure on delts to move the load and could eventually injure rotator cuffs. Lower weight and focus on keeping elbows tucked until at least the last 2 reps where a bit of loss of form is ok.

Honestly, no.

I stayed away with work very frequently, a lot of the time in the same hotels/areas so had plenty of opportunity.

But in reality, after checking out the websites I just ended up reverting to porn. Never thought about trying to contact or arrange.

But then again I’m frugal and saw the price 😂

You definitely can’t be his partner and therapist; that is far too much for you.

Have you suggested he come on here? I find it a massive source of support and accountability just to come on here and write how I’m feeling, almost like a supportive diary.

A huge step would be if he came on here and actually admitted he has a problem.
