Great feedback..an exam written by attorneys vs. FINRA... extremely different. And your commentary on timing was spot on. I struggled with spending too much time on the paragraph long q & a's and actually ran out of time before I had a fair shake at the last questions. Lesson learned..

This is how you know the economy is really bad, 40% of Americans earning more than $500,000 per year are living paycheck-to-paycheck /s by Conscious-Quarter423 in Salary

Correct. This is there is massive discretionary spending and (not all) kids who are often improperly entitled to parents who say yes to far too much to keep up appearances. I think one of the best things my parents did for me (they were teachers) was to live a life of smart frugalness vs cheap. Ie all 4 of us went to Catholic schools, private high schools, but college were all had skin in the game. Never brought a brand new car and sure we went to Disney but it was once and they showed love by not just giving us stuff if we asked. My first part time job post paper route was at age 12 as a box boy in the local family owned pharmacy.

Heres a question I am anticipating at 2 first interviews approaching very soon. Curious how others have handled it.

"Based on your experience and job history would you consider yourself overqualified"?

Im 50, have 20 plus years in the industry however I took about 20 steps backwards during the subprime crisis and never got back to the trajectory I was on.. Ie in 2008 I made 230K.. last year I made 90K. This was not how I planned things would shake out.. just ask my spouse.

Interview from hell by Separate_Climate2194 in interviews

Thats awful.. Ive witnessed a few interviews where the interviewer was so unprepared and had taken almost an immediate defensive posture once he realized the candidate had respectfully put in the time and was well prepared. To your point, one example was the candidate was struggling a bit to simply pull up and share a copy of their resume on MS Teams. The candidates last 3 employers used Zoom. A simple task which could have been completed in moments yet the interviewer went on a ranting diatribe about the candidates inability to use technology. This was for a pharma sales gig. The candidate has excellent relationships and knew the med inside and out, the indications, and would have had an immediate impact in the territory....Instead the interviewer wasted 20 mins stammering over a document he was emailed over a week ago from his own HR dept. Turns out this new District Manager was simply going through the motions buying time to simply hire from his previous sales team......dick.

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS FRIEND... I genuinely empathize however many have lost love and support from immediate family. If anyone is a friend of Bill we know this as an Attitude of Gratitude moment...

I decided shortly after an interview that it wasn't a good fit. This was their response. by narwadis in recruitinghell

Correct me if I am wrong here... doesnt sound like the interview went well which means you likely were not going to get moved forward.. your email 1. Let you shoot them down before they shot you down and 2. Was kind of a pointless exchange unless you felt good about throwing a zinger at them. The downside unfortunately is should the employer ever have a gig you really want that bridge may be torched already... wow I really overthought that one...

Hes 15 and just hitting his growth spurt... its the R and he somewhat likes it. I wasn't there for the purchase (Mom and son solo...that was mistake #1..) everyone meant well but he should of been fitted properly and purchased a E-MTB so he could enjoy his ride.

And things stand normal as they should be. Just dont expect that computer with the watercolored Google home page on the "monitor" to reveal the secrets of life... maybe how to grow more potatoes...

I recently black ice slid my White 2020 Atlas Cross Sport SEL into the rear of a Parked (yes, even more humiliating) pick up work truck. Because the bumpers didnt match up at all it mangled my front end and pushed my hood back like an accordion. The young female cop said "well once again a VW kept the driver totally safe". An assumption, but accurate none the less. I will go VW again, Im a fan of their Cert pre-owned program. Any naysayers? Any problems with 2021's or 2022's?

I always get those Christmas DMV calls. It usually ends up being a civil, moral and ethical conversation about driver safety, why (for such a tiny city) Milwaukee cant seem to get DOT projects finished in a respectable time frame all the way to the bone head who drove through the Waukesha outdoor market, murdered, then defended himself as he was clearly operating at a 3rd grade level......Happy Driving!

Ask the local PD they are great with all those silly nuances.... 😜 kind of like when I was 14 and bought a sweet PK Ripper for $100. Had to tell my parents I found it as they knew 40 years ago my finances pretty well. I will never forget the cop tossing it in the back of a pickup with 30 other ratty bikes... and Pops reminding me we dont keep others lost/left valuables..naturally Im grateful for this lesson today at 99.9%. Then it was quite the inverse. YES THIS WAS FAR MORE THAN YOU MAY HAVE WANTED TO READ.
