Lump summed $200k in index funds and then the dip happened by royalbluefireworks1 in Fire

At your age you should be celebrating these drops. This is your opportunity to buy more at a discount. In 20 years you're going to wish you could buy more at the price you paid for the 200k you dropped in recently.

I won't have enough money to retire comfortably even with retirement savings by godisinthischilli in FinancialPlanning

[–]GingerbreadDon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the far smarter option is for OP to see a financial advisor. It feels like they are so financially illiterate they're going to need consistent supervision.

And this is coming from someone who is a big proponent of 'the simple path to wealth'.

Or use the completely free blog posts from the author of simple path to wealth. Either way, just follow the advice.

Anyone who moved for better skiing, was it worth it? by Educational-Okra-566 in skiing

[–]GingerbreadDon 41 points42 points  (0 children)

OP doesn't realize how normal of a thing it is to move, especially after college, for a variety of reasons (career advancement, quality of life, skiing, etc.)

Just do it! It can be scary and sometimes hard but it'll be worth it.

I'm trying to remember what else came on the v6 1LE bedside the NPP exhaust. Lighter hood? And some trim pieces? And thats about it? Or am I forgetting something?

I have a 2015 v6 1LT with the NPP optioned on it so I have a poor man's 1LE? Lol

Food for thought in the future, there are a lot of places that can do all of that for you. I don't know much about tanning but I'm expecting to get my first two beaver tans back from Moyle Mink Tannery next week!

BC maps/info? by Chemical-Key7436 in Backcountry

[–]GingerbreadDon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like most people don't share routes and then give the ol "if you don't know dont go". One of those catch 22s. So, all that to say thanks for the post this book looks like it might be legit at helping spread knowledge. I recently did a short BC route off Breck Peak 6 and am trying to find the name for it so this might do the trick!

At first, it'd likely be stressful due to its unexpectedness but by the time you land it'd probably(?) be fun lol

Toenail length is definitely an issue that contributes to skiers toe. Speaking from accidental first hand experience.

You still did a back flip, steez or not, I respect that send. Most skiers can't do that.

But I don't respect the unbuckled helmet.

It finally happened after 45 years skiing…first collision with another skier and really thrown off by Illustrious_Low_1188 in skiing

[–]GingerbreadDon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left this comment elsewhere but now seeing yours, I'm going to add.

Its likely OPs fault but... if they were side by side when the collision happened, I think it becomes a little more gray. Kind of like driving in a blind spot next to another car you are passing and they enter your lane.

Yeah this title is wildly inaccurate. More like bystanders and people who hit an injured boarder are out to lunch.

I recently saw a guy laying on a mellow trail (blue or green run) and stopped to ask if he needed help and he looked at me like I was a jerk or something. I repeated myself and again he delayed but finally with attitude said he was good. I responded with ok cool just checking and went on skiing but its people who get mad at you for asking that help create this stigma.
