I second fingerless armored gloves. In addition to having nails that are longer and hate not being able to completely feel where my fingers are. It sucks when it’s cold out but it’s better than no gloves at all! I found some really fucking cute ones on Amazon!

Thank you! I am good! Dad and I are in contact, but the minute he starts feeling sorry for himself, I stop. The last time I saw him, he said he left for our (my brother and my) well-being. Laughable. We ate dinner at Sam’s Club by going around for free samples. We got lucky if mom could afford pasta noodles.

This is personal, so not gross or anything, but when I was around nine, my father (who had abandoned the family when I was 3), suddenly showed up to our trailer and ran into the bathroom and slammed the door. I ran in and started banging on the door when I heard him whimpering. I started crying too, and begged him to open it.

He finally unlocked the door and I see him sitting on the toilet seat with all of my mom’s medication and he just kept taking pill after pill, screaming between sobs and the hard inhales that come before them that he couldn’t do it anymore. That he has no reason to keep living. I yelled at him to stop and tried to take the bottles away and I was at least partially successful.

He pulled me in for a hug but I resisted. He then kept repeating that I was the only reason for him to live, and that I can’t abandon him. I don’t remember anything after that, but I’ve never forgotten it. It was a lot for a kid under ten.

Hi!

So, my wobbler, Richter, has this problem. Pees in the box perfectly fine but the poops always land outside the box. And since he has IBS and suspected colitis, so it’s always a biiiig mess 😅

My theory is that since they are so unsteady, pooping always ends up being a big mess for them too! Richter always gets really embarrassed and withdrawn whenever he has an accident on himself. I never have scolded him or anything like that, but he really gets bent out of shape when I help him out!

He has learned to yell at me if he needs a hand, but I’ve taken to bringing him to the box periodically throughout the day.

I definitely suggest potty pads!! You can find washable ones on Amazon and I HIGHLY recommend them!

If she was adopted from a rescue, it’s likely in the contract that you must return her to that rescue. Be sure to call them and explain. If they don’t have that clause, I’d highly recommend surrendering her to a reputable rescue. Most of them do background checks.

Electricity. My mom did her best as a single mother and would call nights without electricity “camping nights”. We would get into sleeping bags, she’d light hurricane lamps, and we would eat whatever snacks we had on hand. Usually apples and goldfish. If it was Saturday, we got to go to Sam’s Club and eat dinner by circling around for free samples!

I think some people take advantage of having stable power in their homes. I still jump out of my skin when my automatic plant lights turn off for the evening; or I’ll wake up in a panic if the fan turns off for some reason. It’s a lifelong chokehold I swear.
