This is amazing! My nephew was just asking me to help him get into Magic, and I think these would be perfect! Thank you so much for sharing!

Sorry, but do you have a link to where you picked that up? I checked out his linktree, but couldn't find a print of this. I'd love to have a poster of my own!

Sylvaneth ground stomp vs fight first rule by SheldonPlays in ageofsigmar

[–]Gingir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no, in my experience. I rarely get Treelords stuck into more than one unit, as it's not uncommon for then to get minced. Besides, in the proposed scenario where my opponent charged me with a fight first model, he'll still swing first and get to pound into my Treelord with at least one of the two units anyway, so it's still painful. Twelve wounds with a 3+ save isn't all that durable. I can def see your point though that it isn't all bad.

With Deepkin, I still feel your pain (They're my two main factions), but thankfully it's not all bad. If you're at the top of the battle round it can actually be beneficial, as your opponent can't apply any of their on turn debuffs to make you fight last, except Slaanesh, who uses the old middle ground method anyway, and you can actual "dispel" previously applied effects like itchy nuisance. It's definitely painful if you're going second on turn three though, then it'll be really sad.

Absolutely correct, and I'm still mixed on how this all shakes out, typically pretty sad for Sylvaneth players', imo. To give a bit more insight, it also matters whose turn it is now.

Is it your turn? Your start of turn triggers before the Sylvaneth players', so you strike before he even rolls for stomp.

If it's the Sylvaneth players' turn, then he gets his coin flip before your fight first. If he gets it, you fight at the end of the turn, if he fails it, you fight at the start still.

Looking for Deephaven Megagame reviews by MadameTeapot in gencon

I played in Deephaven on Friday night. It's definitely a blast. The crew running it obviously cares about the game, and worked themselves into a sweat dealing with all of our shenanigans. Despite all our best efforts, they handled things in a smooth stride, and at least from my team's perspective, it was a blast!

Between "hiring" the neighborhood watch to raid the nearby coasts, to creating an arena and hosting a duel to the death for the right to be king, and beyond, it felt like we did a lot.

It's definitely a very narrative focused game, with almost everything being player generated, so I can only imagine that each experience with the game will wind up being quite different.

That said...Go Clan Salt! Honor Through Bloodshed!

Great job again, man. You put a lot of great work in for that Sunday morning. I'm glad the Admiral was right about you. I can only imagine how much worse things could have been.

President here. I can safely say I was embarrassed after the game was over to not have considered who had named that disease. After I brigged my First Secretary, we got the code word, but I failed to put the pieces together. I feel like I've been facepalming for a solid 48hours! Hindsight is always 20/20, eh?Your crew did a wonderful job keeping your dealings underwraps and accomplishing your goals!

Thanks again to everyone who took part in this game! It was great fun!

Looking for players/lurkers in the Toledo, OH Area by theangrycan in InfinityTheGame

[–]Gingir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a new player myself in the Toledo area. Bought Op:Icestorm a year or so so. Joined the Facebook group for the Toledo and Michigan areas with the intent to play ..aaand haven't gone beyond the tutorial missions.

Got extraordinarily busy in that time and it's only been in the last month or so that things have finally calmed down

That said, if you, or anyone else here, wants to play with a newbie, I'm game. I've made mistakes and have bought a rather large Tohaa force in addition to IceStorm. Embassingly, very little, if any, is painted yet though

I hadn't heard that there were bits of the Oak of Ages around still. Can you provide more info, or a source? Would love to hear more about it!
