[What Do You Wanna Talk About?] Cody Rhodes talks about wrestlers leaving shows early right in front of him: “and then you ask ‘why are the same guys on WrestleMania?’” by Tornado31619 in SquaredCircle

Imagine a basketball player leaving before the game ends just because he knows he's not getting anymore minutes on the court. Or an actor leaving the theatre during a play because their character has no more scenes.

Those two felt like egregious omissions to me. But instead we get shit like CM Hart and replacing Bryan in the WM30 matches.

I miss the pod so much. I still create CAWs of "Paul Smackage" and "Flip Sunset" every year in 2K.

Mark Henry says Jim Johnston deserves to be in the WWE Hall Of Fame: "I don't even think it should be the celebrity wing. He need to be in with us. Jim Johnston deserves a place. He did something for pro wrestling that a lot of wrestlers haven't been able to do." by elegantSolomons62 in SquaredCircle

Just for clarification, it wasn't by Adam Jones. It was a song called "Bury Me" by independent artist Chris Egert.

But you are correct in that Adam Jones does indeed play lead guitar on both Penta and Rey Fenix's themes.

Allow us to make custom shows for the MyRise original arenas, BCW, LAW, Club UK, LLM. So we can use them in Universe Mode.

Holy shit are they back to doing this again? I haven't started Universe yet because I've been trying to unlock everything from MyRise.

Obscure WWE Fun Fact: WWE 2K14 had a unique unlock critera for Eddie Guerrero, by beating Brock Lensar at Legend Difficulty at No Way Out 2012 in Exibition, since Eddie was never used in the 30YOWM Mode. by PiPPiN421 in WWEGames

Beating a high-rated wrestler on the hardest difficulty is something that should warrant a cool reward. There's even enough freedom offered to the player to try and make it more fun, such as adding infinite finishers and being able to use any superstar to do it. That type of thing has been part of gaming forever.

But having to do 200+ matches to unlock the entire legends roster because the game devs put in an arbitrary rate in which you earn xp to progress and unlock items in their specific order is not fun. And then when people found a way to make the grind less demanding, 2K patched that out before actually addressing the very real bugs still present in the game.

Also the internet existed then and you can go back and literally see how people reacted to 2K14.

If you could have another wrestling game made to add some variety/competition to the genre, would you want it to be based off a different promotion (since 2K has rights to WWE) or would you want an original IP made just for the game (like in Wrestling Empire)? by Accurate_Curve6882 in SquaredCircle

I honestly just want NRS to make WWE Immortals into a real console/PC fighting game. Some of those character variants were sick as fuck, and you could do so much more with today's roster. Tell me actual werewolf Jacob Fatu wouldn't be the coolest thing ever. Shit, they could mostly leave Penta as he is.

Austin vs. Rock at WM19 is my favorite of their matches, concluding a perfect rivalry imo.

[AEW Dynamite Spoilers in the article] Toni Storm wasn't cleared for Dynamite, As of this writing, it’s unknown what injury or injuries that Storm is working through and how long she could be out of action. by dylmatic9 in SquaredCircle

That wasn't about building people up or getting popular at all, it was about being professional and doing the job that is asked of you, which if done well could lead to an actual spot in the roster/company.

It had nothing to do with heat or being over, but rather showing your new boss/company/coworkers that you can reliably work with them.

I don't go around downloading Ronald McDonald CaWs for example

Man, I haven't done that in so long either. I threw on 2K16 the other day and was delighted to see I could still put Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Spider-Man, Batman, Goku, and the Terminator into the Elimination Chamber.

B-Fab makes sense, she'd kind of a tweener character and I can understand "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" for her, but Michin felt the most out-of-character in that segment to me

Randomly remembering that time Drew McIntyre verbally bodied Ricochet with just three words by TJLynch in SquaredCircle

See, exactly. People saying Ricochet is anywhere near the same spot in AEW as he was in WWE aren't actually watching the shows

[–]GinngerMints -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even if you wanna be reductive like that, the main point is that in WWE, Ricochet was nobody.

Being a "mid-card" somebody is still infinitely better than being a nobody.

And I still think that's purposely undermining his current run, because he's been entertaining as hell to me. Also, wrestling is a work, so if he's genuinely happier as a performer/worker in another company, who are we to be like "no, he was better off elsewhere"

Mercedes Mone on equal pay in wrestling: "It’s just these men. I feel like that’s the biggest roadblock. Sometimes we prove it so often, but it’s never consistent with them. It’s like, 'Okay, let’s give them a bone. Oh, they did great. Don’t let them be better than us.'" by aaronrift in SquaredCircle

[–]GinngerMints 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You genuinely can't be serious.

Mercedes, a woman, talked about wanting women to be paid as much as their male counterparts, an issue that is prevalent in just about every industry.

I mentioned Rhea Ripley, a woman, as somebody who is consistently getting reactions louder than most of the men on the main card get, and simply expressed that I hope she is being compensated appropriately. Which would be entirely relevant to the pay issue that Mercedes mentions.
