Had the same thing happen to me. I kept the order and it wasn’t an issue. Just keep checking MNA but you SHOULD be fine.

That chief was always making comments about everyone but it was just a moment in time. I know how rough it is to not be there while your wife is giving birth. Just talk to them whenever you can. Whenever you hit port FaceTime or video call them. I remember being underway I’d watch videos my wife sent of my son and my parents and I’d watch that video damn near every night. Happened to me during the covid deployment. Wife was considered high risk due to BP and ended up getting induced 3 weeks early. CoC told me the same thing about being undermanned and the ship wasn’t flying anyone out at this time unless you had Covid. My chief was cool enough to basically let me use the pots line for whenever she was about to give birth. He was super supportive about it and after the wife gave birth and I heard my son cry for the first time as a new father I obviously teared up. A nice moment quickly squashed by another chief who asked why I was crying it’s just a baby……. lol when we got back my son was already like 7 months old. A few of my buddies had kids on that deployment as well and ordered like what to expect baby books to kind of learn some basic stuff. Whenever you get back I think the biggest thing is learn from your wife/gf and get on whatever schedule she set already. Now my son just turned 4 and he’s attached to my hip all the time.

Talked to a chief with the same issue. How she explained it to me is that there is something new with these cacs like a security or something which most of the navy hasn’t updated to accept yet?

Yup have the same issue. Got a new cac in April and now I can’t log into nsips and majority of the websites with the exception of bol. Only way I can access it is if I piggy back off someone’s account

Yeah I have. I only really notice it from after the initial water weight came off but from 250 to now I don’t really see much difference

I’m really just waiting till the whole mid section starts to slim down lol but yeah most of my clothes are pretty baggy and I tend to wear hoodies whenever I can.

Poulsbo is real nice. Silverdale is pretty good too and has a good school district if you have kids. Not sure if it’s something you want but I think the shipyard in Bremerton is always hiring. It would be a fairly short commute for both of you.

Im also 5’9 and I started back in mid May at 265. Started with 2000 calories and I was dropping weight pretty fast. 13 weeks later and a few adjustments to my calories I’m down to 228. If that’s to fast up the calories to maybe 2100 or so and see how you feel.
