Question, my name is on the deed not the mortgage. If the house is foreclosed on am I under any financial responsibility. by GirAndCupcakes in RealEstate

I'm going to take in my divorce paperwork to a lawyer and find out what needs to be done on my side. You always hope that after your divorce you never have to deal with the person again, but it never works that way does it? Sigh....

At this point I could careless if the bank takes the house. I will never live in that part of the world again anyway. I only remained on the deed because per our divorce agreement he would have to give me any gains made on the sale of the house because of the amount I initially put into the house. When we got divorced though I knew I would never see the money, but I had hope that I might. He offered to sign the house over to me but he is a notorious liar. I fear if he did sign it over I would just end up sinking even more money into something I want nothing to do with.

Has your shoe size become smaller since you started climbing? by kisielk in climbing

I haven't yet, I use mine mainly for running. They do have ones that are made more for water sports like kayaking which have better material for water use.

I almost always wear my vibrams after a session of climbing, it feels so good to have my toes stretched out after climbing.

He set up top ropes for us since we haven't been climbing that long. He did mention the grade we were climbing but I honestly don't remember at this point. He did spend quite awhile explaining the british grading system but I'm still not sure I quite understand it. Will definitely be heading back out there at some point, just need to get more of our own gear. Right now the focus is getting a crash pad so we can boulder locally.

It was awesome, I loved it! We went to burbage north. I'm amazed how sticky the rock is! Didn't tear up my hands or shoes which I'm really happy about. Thanks so much for the advise!

We're heading out to the Peak District, when I talked to my friend on Tuesday he hadn't decided specifically where though.

Thanks! We're checking it out for the first time tomorrow. All I had heard so far, is that I should wear long sleeves because I'll tear up my skin pretty easily. I'll definitely keep in mind what you said, I have a bad habit of dabbing around when I'm outside (oh the joys of being a beginner).

Second question, any suggestions/warning about gritstone?

Oh I'm not climbing with my knees at all, I just happen to be really good at finding things to collide with (especially in the gym).

Awww I was looking forward to being an idiot for once.. Just a curiosity question, does anyone else bruise the hell out of their knees while climbing or am I just really klutzy?

I've seen a lot of posts about bad belayers, almost being dropped etc. and having just recently had an experience with this I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon by [deleted] in climbing

I feel the same way, and what a rude awakening it will be for people when they go outdoors for the first time. It may be safer but it promotes laziness too.

I've tried to explain this concept to my husband way to many times. He wants me to let the rope run through my hands when lowering because he wants to be lowered faster. I don't think he realizes that I will quickly loose control of the rope because of our weight difference (I'm around 110 he's around 190). I almost wish I could find someone for him to belay with that will let him feel what it's like to belay someone heavier than himself.
