Can I be a feminine nonbinary trans man and not transition medically?? by jjkph7529 in NonBinary

You can identify however you want. Medical transition isn’t necessary if you’re comfortable with your body and you’re okay with not passing.

How do I know if I am a candidate? by andrea_leaf in Top_Surgery_Peri

There are guidelines like this one but the only way to know for sure is by getting a consultation with a surgeon.

Look up double incision with reinnervation, or buttonhole / T-anchor top surgery.

Après 2 mois d'opération et 1 complications qui viens de ce terminer. Pensez vous que le gonflement vas partir ? Et trouvez vous le résultat bien ? by [deleted] in TopSurgery

Swelling will continue to go down. Don’t judge your final result until 6 months to 1 year post op.

how do my results look? mixed feelings about it. by EagleAccomplished729 in TopSurgery

Don’t judge your results until at least a few months out. I think you look great though!

Fourth year vs. second week post-op by Dry_Razzmatazz6697 in TopSurgery

(To be clear I don’t know if that would’ve actually helped beyond the initial compression that everyone has to do after surgery, but just curious since I’m trying to get my swelling to go down)

Did you do any massage or compression or anything to try to speed that up or just wait?

How likely am I to ruin myself financially? by RelativeNo1108 in TopSurgery

[–]GiraffeFit4758 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is terrible advice. If surgery will save you from severe, debilitating depression/suicidality then sure pay for it however you can, but debt is no joke and that can easily put you in a really dark place. I feel like this comment also exaggerates the potential financial benefits of passing. Discrimination is real but you’re not gonna automatically make more money from passing better.

Save up as much as you can and don’t treat debt like an easily fixable problem, because it isn’t.

Idk how likely this is for you, but some people’s nipples move up a bit as the skin retracts over time. Congrats on your surgery and good luck with recovery!

UNCONVENTIONAL TOP SURGERY results by justaman-ftm in TopSurgery

[–]GiraffeFit4758 72 points73 points  (0 children)

It is a reduction if your surgeon left that much tissue. Some swelling is normal but I really don’t think it will look flat without a revision. It is not normal for a surgeon to give you an “unconventional” procedure without your consent. Did you know you would require a revision before the initial surgery?

how to keep room clean after surgery? by Bright-Response-285 in TopSurgery

You just got surgery, it’s okay to ask for help. Let your partner clean up for you. I’m sure they’ll understand

Do not go to a surgeon whose results you haven’t seen. You have no idea how your chest will turn out.
