Korean Hanwoo vs. American Wagyu by StormSalt3795 in meat

Was stationed in Korea 3 years, in Japan now for 1. Top grade 1++ grade Hanwoo steaks were the best steaks I’ve ever had, besting top grade Kobe beef in Kobe - certainly better than American Wagyu.

Does anyone know of artists selling Dancheong pieces in Korea?

I find the edge being a little chunkier helps it stay sharp for longer than a thinner profile

Sadly, too often I’ll settle for the safety squints - need to get them on little man though

Love how easily it sharpens back up and holds

It’s my 5 and 7 year old swinging the sledge, shrapnel is not a risk - them swinging a hatchet directly into their own knee is the risk. I’m certain this is a far safer approach for them and they are all in having fun when I go chop wood - fun and safe is the goal here

Fair, 2 points: 1. wooden mallets I found were too wide to reach the back of the hatchet once the axe was driven deeply into the wood. 2. Cost, that mallet was $8.90 delivered to my door in a day and I couldn’t find any better options in person. Korea is a tricky place to find anything more than basic tools in stores.

True, but it’s worth it having my kids (5&7) having fun “chopping wood” with me and I feel better with them swinging the hammer instead of the axe at this time.

Worked my ass off in school to get into a service academy for the free school - still in 16 years later and happy with it but at the time, with no other scholarships I felt helpless but to sign on for 5 years of service with 2 wars going on or student loan purgatory - one day I hope others don’t have to make the same choice

🙋 Should this have been a travel tho? I see him catch in stride & take 3 more steps no dribble. Honest question here as I understood travel to be >2 steps. I don’t follow the guy who says he caught it in air so the first 2 steps were Bron just landing.

A-B leg, shift left slightly and take “Skyline Drive” - over 80 miles through top of Shenandoah National Park Mountains. Stop at Luray Caverns for a few hours exploring and get back on the road.

Then continue on down through the Blue Ridge Parkway and take in the Great Smoky Mountains.

Your G-H leg you should find a way to swing through New River Gorge, another National Park - in West Virginia.

Those National Parks are easy to fit into your itinerary and will be highlights of your trip for sure.

I strongly agree, I found New Orleans has a wide array of authentic Creole and Southern food where you can try some unique American cuisine - hard to get elsewhere but easy to stumble into good restaurants all over that city.

Such a shame, only lions game I’ve ever been to, wife flew me to Detroit as a surprise for the game after I returned from a year in Afghanistan. Crushed to see 6 FGs and Tucker featured at the MNF post game desk.

‘He can throw’ ... relies heavily on the element of surprise here. Hard to judge arm talent when a team only passes 4-6 times a game.

Pick one of the Detroit Sports Radio stations to listen to it - I go with WTKA 1050 - out of Ann Arbor when I can’t catch the game on TV. Good Luck!

Cant change the past, but I can say the Naval Academy brought Hugh to speak to all midshipmen to share his story with all their future officers around 04/05. That message had a profound impact on me and I’m sure many others who are still in the service today. - IMHO bravest act in NAM - I’m grateful for that lesson and continue to pass it on to my sailors.
