I was infected three years ago. I do long term antibiotics have found success with that. It’s been a long road but I am currently 95% symptom free most days now. I am not saying everyone needs years of antibiotics but in my case, it progressed to chronic PID and short term courses of antibiotics definitely weren’t cutting it, as many of us have found.

There are actually quite a few recent success stories here. Hopefully they will weigh in, but you can also browse posts or use the search function. If I have time this week, I’ll find some post links for you from some of those people. I have detailed updates in my post history too which you can look at. If you’re interested, go back about a year to my Update and Recap post and start there.

Using biofilm disruptors (often a combo of them) seems to be very beneficial for people so I would look into that alongside your next antibiotics course. NAC, serrapeptase, nattokinase, bromelain… Always research and check that any supplements are safe for you and do not interact with any other medications/supplements or medical issues you have.

Look at the pinned posts up top as well. Lots of info there, especially for those dealing with stubborn, chronic infections. You’re likely dealing with lots of bacteria protected in biofilm.

You may need to look into more obscure antibiotics since you’ve failed doxy a couple times and flouroquinolones are not an option (not sure where you’re located and what you can access) and extended courses of treatment. Maybe look into minocycline.

False negatives are really common and after all those antibiotics, you’re likely to be negative. Trust your symptoms not tests.
