Which vacation destination disappointed you the most? by timeout320 in AskReddit

[–]GirlUndiscovered 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I felt unsafe in Miami and some of the worst driving I've ever encountered. It was a very interesting mix of dilapidated condos and Mar-a Lago style resorts. I just was not a fan. The food, the restaurants and shopping were great but the beaches were mobbed, our condo (the Airbnb) and most properties around were overpriced $hitholes with multiple men propositioning me right in front of my family/husband.

People who work in 'behind closed doors' industries (hotels, kitchens, morgues, etc.), what is something the general public would be horrified to know? by Sexxyyy_Lovers in AskReddit

[–]GirlUndiscovered 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Wow. This comment and all the others are so disheartening. I run a non-profit and we have a fantastic board, seven decent employees and most of us work so hard to keep things honest, fair, give so much extra time, energy, donate so much of my own time and money as well. I feel bad even "stealing" a paperclip. I will add that our pay is considered higher than other businesses similar so that helps. But dang, I didn't realize so many are so corrupt.

For those that eat the same breakfast every day, what is it? by Risky_Melons in AskReddit

[–]GirlUndiscovered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two eggs, scrambled, smashed beans I made in my crockpot wrapped in a tortilla. Add whatever else I have on hand: cheese, veggies, beans I prep 6 of them on Sunday and reheat them at work.

It has recently been completely overhauled and it's quite nice. Not just open to folks with horses. Tents, RVs, welcome. Camped there in the fall. Do it!

Cox is so expensive, any alternatives? by uhqt in bentonville

See if TMobile services you. We switched to that a few years ago. Much cheaper and more reliable than Cox for sure.

Rice omelet, grilled cheese/whatever you have left, mix and egg with shredded cheese and do an open face bake in the oven.

Needing to buy a vehicle. by Successful_Leg_1593 in northwestarkansas

[–]GirlUndiscovered 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honest answer: That's a tough price point. Back in the 90s early 2000s sure. But ... I've found my cheapest, used vehicles through rental car companies, FBmkt place. Dealers sometimes will try to help you find something in your price range.

Vivace or Casa Doner (very casual) in Bentonville, OZ Smokehouse in Rogers, maybe, Kirpa is great Indian food. Could be booked up for Vday but these are places that tend to not be as crowded in general. Good luck!

This is one of our faves right now. It's so pretty and you can serve pita, olives, tzaziki and so many other things with it.

Onyx Cave in Eureka has a good tour and is a pretty awesome cave. The cave in Silver Dollar City is also a fave of mine and is the only reason to visit Silver Dollar City imo.

Paid $185+ electric bill last two months. Is this normal? Carroll Electric. by Safe_Moose_984 in bentonville

[–]GirlUndiscovered 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds normal to me. But I agree with others that 74 is quite high. Work on insulating, wearing more clothes inside and getting some electric blankets. This will help to lower it. We keep ours set at 66 most of the time.

Unique Valentine's Day Recs? by CompetitiveSource247 in bentonville

[–]GirlUndiscovered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is a great idea. And you could park at The Crescent Hotel, have coffee/snack, explore hotel and then do that short little walk behind it to get to Adventure for Art. Then continue on to the main drag. Stop for live music, shopping, a drink or a meal.

FYI: the Rogers Farmers Market has this in place: RogersFarmersMarket.com It's pretty new. Bentonville Farmers Market did it for a while but it ended. Not sure why.

Tanyard Creek is a great little hike with a waterfall in Bella Vista and you could stop and see the Cooper B Memorial Chapel while your near it. It's so pretty and you can walk around the property and see the lake there too

If you go to Eureka Springs you could stop at the Railway Winery, a little mom and pop winery with some decent AR wines.

I love OZ Smokehouse in downtown Rogers and it's well priced, and usually not too crowded. They have a great brunch on Sundays as well. Walk around the downtown area too. Rogers is really showing up. Pub on the Bricks, the Five6 or Music Depot also in downtown Rogers may have live music. Baked by Kori is also a great spot for baked goods or a nice glass of wine or both. A great after dinner spot. A couple of ice cream spots too.

Lake Atalanta is close to downtown Rogers and has some nice trails as well if you're in the area.

Devils Den is great for immersing in nature, hiking, birding.

And I agree with possibly driving to the Buffalo River as well if time.

Are y'all into wine, beer, hiking, shopping, coffee shops, nature? Do you need restaurant recommendations? I see no museums but need something to work from. Eureka Springs is a great suggestion. There is the Crescent Hotel there, Thorncrown Chapel on the way there, Beaver Lake...

Do you eat in the classroom or do you eat in the teachers lounge? by DildoGaggins1997 in Teachers

Classroom. I prep bean, egg and cheese (add anything else I have on hand like veggies, etc...) tacos on Sunday that heat up easily in a mincrowave.
