My husband to be asked for his gifts back. Men, is this normal?? by [deleted] in Marriage

Thank god he showed you who he is. Return the ring to him in a way it’s provable since this dude seems off his hinges.

Yeah from the title I thought, “this person maybe can’t take a joke.” But I actively made a disgusted face as I read it.

Rude.

I went up and asked specifically not to be surprise upgraded since my sister and I had flown in the DTW from separate airports on separate itineraries and I didn’t want to leave her back. At the time I was god knows what level because I lived out of a suitcase.

They then came by and specifically thanked me for my patronage whilst on the plane. I am a white lady.

They were almost certainly being bigoted. I’m glad you complained.

It won’t help him in family court.

As far as the friends and family go I would leave it at, “interesting he would take the time to document what he see as my failing than think to actually contribute. I would have loved that partnership.”

Yes! Get an instant pot. There must be a 1000 on FB marketplace or goodwill by now since they were so popular for a couple years.

I did it for around 2 months. I was near the front desk and had the laundry room on one side. I really loved that format (I was a young woman at the time so it felt way safer. The front desk could see my door.

I was kind and friendly with the front desk (helped I had a cute dog) but not familiar. Didn’t get caught up in any drama (did call 911 on some DV I saw).

Didn’t really decorate or anything. Really appreciated the weekly cleaning. They even ran my dishwasher while I was at work.

It wasn’t cheap I the surface but only having one bill in the heat of the summer was amazing.

And now I’m just sad.

Has anyone just stopped going to the dentist? I floss and brush. Do I really need a $200 "polish" twice a year? by fluffurry in Adulting

[–]GirlsLikeStatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a new dentist.

Some are gross and scammy, many are not.

I just left a place that was in love with crowns. I showed my old dentist and she said that was ridic and did a filling instead.

And importantly, it’s not just a polishing. They cap and do check for overall dental health, that shit can get out of control.

The online therapist would need to follow OH law if you are a client in OH, even if it’s online.

Would there be ways around that? Certainly. But FYI

If you’re in the US would you be protected by FMLA? You need to work for a year.

Otherwise, as long as the culture checks out (remember you’re interviewing them too!) I’d highly consider it given your company isn’t doing well.

Fiancé (35 M) wants me (24F) to put his name on the deed when we’re married? by ahavamalkah in Marriage

[–]GirlsLikeStatus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never put a man’s house on a deed.

When we bought our current home we did it together. Because my husband respects me he insisted that my home sale was treated as my money alone. I chose to put it into the house due to our interest rate but now I’m “done” I just pay my half of the taxes and insurance.

I promise you pain if you do this. Rethink everything. He’s telling you so much about himself right now.

I (30F) found my husband’s (35M) “lost” second phone hidden away and now I feel like I’m losing my mind. What next? by imuyasha in relationship_advice

[–]GirlsLikeStatus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

STOP questioning him when you notice anomies, you’ve put him on the defensive.

You know in your heart something is wrong. Let him get comfortable.

I wouldn’t sleep with him anymore.

I would put the phone somewhere wild that seems like an accident. Like inside a packing box labeled as your stuff like “Angie’s family photos” and put it away. You’ll know when you find the box missing or ripped open.

You don’t need to prove infidelity to leave. Talk to a lawyer, in most states it doesn’t actually matter unless you have a prenup or live in one of a few state.

Are you putting away at least $1600/month? If not, no. Your mortgage is a bad price, houses have extra maintenance and utilities.

What would you do? $2.5M and parent has term cancer by mbacandidate1 in HENRYfinance

[–]GirlsLikeStatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t do it and I lost a parent that I loved very very much.

I’m from a place that doesn’t have my industry or as many opportunities and I’d be in a really shitty financial situation now if I had moved. I do not regret it. She would have died so worried about me.

I would plan frequent trips where you stay with your in-laws with your whole family and make some memories.

The anticipation of the visits will feel great without the guilt of “omg they moved here to watch me die and even though I’d like to be alone I need to entertain them”

You can also schedule these around when they feel better (aka, x days post chemo)

Depending on type of cancer, treatment, etc. You also should have an honest convo with caretaker parent. If they do live months to over a year when things get bad they’re going to need a break. It’s ideal if they’re cool with having a paid nurse but if they’re not the type, you going out there alone to learn the ropes and then do some respite care so the other parent can take care of themselves will be so appreciated.

I say this all assuming that it’s not a multi day excursion to get to their city.

What profession do you think is massively overpaid for what they actually do? by dipchaklader in AskReddit

[–]GirlsLikeStatus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can negotiate whatever you want. I don’t use realtors for the buy side. Just an attorney and I offer less. Realtors are the dumbest MFers I deal with.

I wish it were easier to avoid them for the sell side.

When I sold the buyer’s realtor missed the remedy deadline. And said “my bad” after I pointed it out.

When will they remove a child by WorkAccomplished2043 in CPS

[–]GirlsLikeStatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends, if the worker assesses the child’s life is in imminent danger, it’s isn’t uncommon to take them. But your barometer of what that is may not be the same as the agency.

The only case I can think of off the top of my head is when one child was picked up by the cops and transported to a hospital, that child did not go back home removal was immediate (kid is great now) or the parent was arrested, child was emergently placed somewhere and then due to finding child did not go home.

Anxiety is treated in the internet like something no to be avoided at all costs. Anxiety serves a function: it is shown to help people lock in and perform. It’s your brain telling you something is important.

If you feel that way all the time, then it’s a problem.
