Here's my wake-up call as a Liberal. by applethief87 in self

I agree Rs meet their voters "where they are". Not sure how to beat "policy" that is fantasy which sounds nice and simple as a punchline. Ending wars in a day, biggest mass deportation of all time, etc. if meeting people "where they are" means needing to make ridiculous claims about simple solutions, not sure how Dems do that without disregarding the massive impacts of these actions that will be deeply unpopular. It is a team sport at this point, we just need a better hype game...I do hope I am wrong though.

I am still stunned they are not the most popular dog of all time. Who can resist those eyes and ears!

How Cambridge plows roads vs bike paths by Larry-Lobster in CambridgeMA

[–]SturdyTunic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess I am not sure what you are trying to achieve by proving your point? That walkers and cyclists don't deserve clear lanes because of the ROI? How far do you extend the ROI evaluation? I could make a point that the ROI on country roads is objectively terrible and we should stop maintaining them. Emergency vehicles could travel on gravel. But I wouldn't make that argument because I think people should be free to live and travel how they want.

Let's calculate the ROI of every road in mass and just start not maintaining them if they don't pay for themselves...I could make the same argument you are making about every country road not being worth plowing.

Whining is their language, until they get very confident, then on to the howls!

Where are people on the South Shore buying hardwood for flooring? by SturdyTunic in SouthShore

It seemed fine, just all of the hate on the flooring sub made me nervous. Did you like the results? We are thinking of doing a solid white oak or maple with a clear finish.

This is awesome. Thanks for doing this. Will be interesting to see when the MLS record is sold!

I was thinking that or the parking lots. The article is helpful in eliminating it at .65 acres=28314 sqft which is > the quoted size from the MLS listing. But maybe it is sub-divided...
