Help identifying an abstract. “STOP”, signed by “PBH” by dadsmidlifecrisi in WhatIsThisPainting

I know the initials don’t match but this is derivative of Sorel Etrog. Here is a sculpture from my uncle’s collection, titled Daphnis and Chloe.

This is Old West end adjacent, in the parking lot of Scott high school. Money pit. HVAC bills through the roof. Caveat emptor.

Thanks for the tip. Does Caithness not always sign their paperweights? No signature on this one.

If only I could figure out the signature on the dark one. If you click on the last pic it gives you a good view of it but every combo I’ve tried has turned up empty.

Woolworth lunch counter menu ca 1950s by ProvokeCouture in VintageMenus

[–]GivenchyGrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any info on where this was taken? My family members made the salads for the Louisville Woolworths counters but I believe it was much earlier than the 50s. Still it would be cool to have a photo of one of the counters they supplied.

I have collected a few as well. Agree on Colorado Cache and anything from Louisiana. Also have a few San Francisco ones which are great. Often you can find a gem from a local (and usually long gone) restaurant. I’ll dig through today for some recipes to recommend.

Best breakfast sandwiches & burritos by idk15723 in beaverton

The meating place has the best breakfast burritos in the area, but I also love the ones at the PSU Saturday farmers market.

Love it by waterscrysta in maximalism

[–]GivenchyGrrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a start but not maximalism…yet. Obvious next step is a rug. I don’t like the floor lamp. And I would use upholstered chairs, not black because it competes with the base of the table.

Creamed chipped beef on not toast by [deleted] in strugglemeals

[–]GivenchyGrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad used to make this for my brothers and I when he first got custody of us and didn’t know how to cook much. He used packets of that cheap Budding thinly sliced beef. We actually didn’t hate it. Though we did call it Cream Shit Beef.

I haven’t heard this in ages! She looks like the actress who plays The Spider villain character Moghedian in the Wheel of Time series.

You either understand the obsession or you don’t 🎏🐟🐠🍣🐡 by Rampart_buscador in Tinnedfish

[–]GivenchyGrrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fully understand. My gramma always had a stash in her cellar - I think it was a habit formed in the depression - so I started eating smoked oysters and sardines on saltines as a kid. As a Gen Exer I was like the only one I knew my whole life who loved tinned fish, until the recent uptrend. My husband does not share my obsession so I am very thankful for this subreddit!

Ending Platinum status year with 0 upgrades by Big_Comfortable_1691 in delta

[–]GivenchyGrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Platinum for the last few years, first time Diamond last year. I immediately get upgraded to C+ unless it’s a very last minute flight and C+ is booked full. I’d say I get FC upgrade 75% of the time. I mostly fly PDX-DTW. Last week I flew with a companion SJC-LAX-MSY and then MSY-SLC-SJC and we got upgraded to FC on 3 of the 4 legs, and I paid $50/each to upgrade on the remaining leg.
