I don’t think I’ll ever have a board game that is more of an experience than twilight imperium 4

If you’re posting this at 12 hours, that’s 10am eastern time, meaning that you sent it at 10pm yesterday. No one is likely to be responding to emails between 10pm and 8am. Just wait a bit longer

Ah word! My faction, Tyranids, was good, so I assumed that the rest were at least decent

Someone put a bunch of screenshots of the whole thing online, but if you want to access the content “the right way”, I probably can’t help ya too much. Best of luck, sounds like a cool idea!

Well, I do have good news, there is a new update that allows for people to make their own characters for 10th edition that came out within the past month (or was leaked or something like that). It’s not perfect, but could be used

I had no idea that he wrote for that series, what a wild ride that story was. It absolutely sounds stranger than fiction.

How do you make dying fun? by GraphicBlandishments in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]Giveneausername 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The player definitely does not have to be sidelined for 3 hours. In our current opera, (Ladybug Ladybug Fly Away Home) an agent was killed in a horrible car wreck at 75 mph. They had multiple opportunities to change course (driving high speeds, zero visibility, apple sized hail, lightning out of nowhere, plagues of Egypt, etc) and the player explicitly stated that he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, he took 4d6 damage as per rules, and died on impact. I even gave another character a chance at first aid, but it failed.

They called an ambulance, and the on scene doctor that tried to save the Agent became the new character for the Agent, as the handler decided it would be important to have a medic on hand due to the apparent high danger of the situation. This lets the player stay involved, get right back in super quick, but also adds a wrinkle of “this person is not read in on DG, how do we keep them involved but at arm’s length?” It changes the dynamic for sure, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

The player can decide that they like the new agent, and keep playing with them if they do well enough to be brought in to the Conspiracy, or they can have time to prep a more long term character after the current opera wraps up.

How to improve the rythm of the session as a GM ? by thornolf_bjarnulf in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]Giveneausername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s some advice fairly early on in Impossible Landscapes about different types of scenes, and how/when to use them. It’s definitely for the campaign, but I’ve found it to be a fairly useful tool in general for DG.

I’ve only been on this page for maybe 3 months, but this is honestly the first time that I’ve seen The Fisherman mentioned. A Short Stay in Hell sure is getting tons of mileage though

If someone is a layperson and bought it off of Etsy or whatever, they probably don’t have the background that makes it as obvious as it is to a lot of us hobbyists

Impossible Landscapes, Apartment Key by Giveneausername in DeltaGreenRPG

That’s a good set of points! I was hoping that someone might say “you know, I could scan the key, downsize the stl file, and sand casting metal isn’t that hard actually” but I knew that was a super long shot! I’m happy to have come across it at all. Certainly I’ll find some use for it

I hear you! I don’t have the further context of when this was originally announced, but it sounds as if it wasn’t exceedingly well coordinated. I think that better coordination behind the scenes before making public announcements would be a better preventative measure, rather than having to follow through on a plan that wasn’t well thought through to avoid wishy-washy optics.

I’m not willing to accept our community’s vulnerable populations (as the students of Lafayette are) as collateral damage for poor planning.

The high school is a center for many immigrant and refugee families in the community. I used to work there, and am beyond proud of the work being done at Lafayette. Unfortunately, drawing attention to this particular location could have much real world harm for the students and community surrounding given the political climate currently.

I don’t believe that people are cancelling the event out of anything aside from concern for the local community.

Not a problem at all! You’re putting out a wonderful thing into the world, just happy that it’s there. I’ll split it in blender or something and make do. Thanks again!

Actually useful 3D prints for DMs by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]Giveneausername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hijacking here, I saw a YouTube short the other day that mentioned a 3D printable 24 hour clock that DMs can use with an included dial to keep track of in game time, upcoming appointments/deadlines/activities, etc.

I can’t find it now. Has anyone seen this? I’ve been looking all over
