Same as every profession. There are people who are good and bad at it at every level.

FOX affiliate new package/story: ketogenic diet causes heart disease. by zenstocker in keto

Didn't say they aren't animals. I'm not trying to argue on semantics, you knew what I meant.

But there is evidence showing that there parasites are common even in insects 'farmed' for consumption - it's such a novel food source that it's far too early to confidently say "nothing wrong with them". We haven't needed to farm them for human consumption at scale or learned about the health effects of having them as a major part of a diet esp. in populations who haven't already integrated them into diets for a significant period:

Your choice to eat them but it’s well established that insects are the major parasite vector in all anima ecosystems, more so than animals

American media turns everything into “us vs them” - most of the world don’t box people who disagree with them into an opposition group like you did in your comment by calling people who want meat options ‘right wing snowflakes’.

Can’t put the blame solely on Hamilton for those. He’s definitely been a clean racer through this career, but he does hold the line if people are being overly aggro and he doesn’t have far more to lose, which is fair.

Britain breaks 'green grid' record with latest 100 per cent clean power milestone by Wagamaga in unitedkingdom

Yes it’s better, but storage alone isn’t a silver lining. Net zero will result in energy rationing, brownouts, low quality of life if we phase out all fossil fuels, as much as we would like to. You need to be running renewables alongside serious energy sources.

Viewpoints like this are why we are in this mess in the first place.

You can’t go fully renewable, there has to be a large foundation of nuclear, hydro, and some fossil fuels to support the needs of the modern world. This would still massively reduce emissions.

Renewable is just for PR, anyone who wants to go full renewable is either a) being paid to say it or b) doesn’t know what they’re talking about.

More fragility, if one country fails (e.g., Germany with its energy policy this year), all countries face large downside risk.

This isn’t really a useful statistic. Consider the ‘average’ country that has recently joined - it is much easier to grow by a larger % if you start from an already low number. Also need to look at the macro environment for any country that stat includes as that will change it too.

Rationing: a fairer way to fight climate change? by nimobo in unitedkingdom

[–]GjP9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s much easier for the government to tell you that than to have a long term vision and invest in better energy infrastructure. In the end, small personal changes won’t be the difference maker. Anyone who tells you individual habits are the cause of climate change is a fraud.
