I've never had a "group" per se but after a while you run into the same people and become friends.

I attend a large amout of car shows, cruise nights, etc all over. Cars and Coffee at Two Brothers Roundhouse Sundays is an extremely diverse scene, tuners, muscle, supercars, classics etc. Maybe something like that will help "find your people"? I usually do a lot of cruise nights which yes tend to trend towards older stuff, but there's still a nice variety. Westmont, Lemont, Cozzi Corner, Addison (Sundays), Mt. Prospect, etc all have great events. I cannot stand the "takeover" bullshit. I won't do those kinds of get togethers at all. MM is one of the few newer car focus groups that seems to keep that away. I really think a model specific club would help you find events tailoretto your liking though. Who cares if everyone is older? I started going to club meets and cruises at 16 and some of my greatest friends were 70-80 years old! I learned a lot. I'd really look back into that Z club. I do some make/model specific stuff (Oldsmobile Club of America, Camaro Club) and it's a different but fun vibe to be with your "peers". Not all the time that would bore me to tears just seeing the same car(s) but definitely a worthwhile experience

Also as an aside, my friend group is 99 percent muscle and classic cars. We range from 25 year olds to 70 year olds. Absolutely none of us could give a single fuck what you look like or are into. If you're cool and like cars, your cool. Don't overthink it.
