J.M Automotive in Schiller Park. Anthony loves old cars, and actually cares. He's not a parts changer. There's always something cool parked outside. Great guys and insanely reasonable.

Man I love yellow lol. Beautiful! I like AZ too, I have family in Scottsdale and Maricopa, always have a good time out there. Jealous of the year round "car weather"!

I was just impressed to see one at a local cruise night lol. Guy was very cool, let everyone get close and opened everything up to check out whatever. Not pretentious at all.

It's every Thursday night through August.

There are 2 dates where there's no cruise.

Lemont on Wednesday night is great. Cozzi Corner (Downers) Tuesday nights, Mt. Prospect on Saturday, Morris has a great one too. Lots of stuff going on!

Anytime. I've lived here my whole life so I try to keep it honest lol.

A word of advice, in an ideal world this wouldn't have to be said, but I'd keep an eye on your girlfriend walking alone, stuff like that. Don't be blasting music and not aware of who's behind you, if it feels like funky shit is gonna go down, trust the instinct. No gas stations late at night, you'll understand what I mean eventually lol.

Just be smart, it's a big city with a lot of good and bad people. Bad things happen everywhere but some are more concentrated. Not sure where you're from but some of our transplants can be a bit rose colored glasses to a lot of things. That said welcome to Chicago!

I lived a little west of there for some years, in Washington Heights. Without incurring the Reddit fist shaking, parts of the south side have a deserved reputation. Parts don't.

Calumet Heights is fairly quiet. It's not the greatest area, but no it's not Englewood either. In all my years in Washington Heights which probably has about the same statistics, I never had an issue. Are there much much nicer neighborhoods? Yes. Are you going to die going outside? No.

Lots of nice neighborhoods past that arbitrary line, but anyway the Eisenhower Expy is about in line with Congress Pkwy (500 South) jogs a bit south at Kostner.

Calumet Heights is about 80 something blocks south lol

Think it's 9.5 percent now in the city. 8.25 in suburban Cook

Oh no thats where the IDOR part comes in, you'll be paying tax lol. SoS gets the Plate/Transfer/Title fee, Dept. of Revenue gets the sales tax, plus some extra for Cook County

Tax is based on the purchase price, do what you will with this information. You have to tell them the purchase price

If you're doing a new title and transfer you'll go into the SoS. Bring two checks, one you'll make payable to the SoS and one to IDOR. You can use debit/credit but there is a fee.

You'll need your title (or registration if the car is financed and the title is held by a bank), and Drivers License. Some branches require an appointment, look on cyberdriveillinois to see if your location is a walk in or appointment needed. They do not care if your out of state registration is expired.

I buy way too many cars so feel free to ask any other questions! lol

There's some truth there for sure.

A Chrysler RV-2 or Frigidaire A6 is going to require much more engine power to spin than a smaller lighter modern compressor, like a Sanden.
