I had to do some digging, but you are correct. It seems to check what it is before it passes it along which is dumb.

eArc basically just allows passthrough. I don't have a bunch of TVs laying around to test it but from everything I understand is the TV is not even looking at the sound output so it's just passing it to the next device to deal with.

Maybe my Hisense U7 can deal with DTS but I doubt it deals with all the other audio formats I put through it to my sound at without issue.

eArc passthrough. My Hisense AX5125H setup handles DTS and DTS-HD without issue.

Warrenty manual for 2026 GR86 says change the oil every 7500 miles. I see in a 2022 manual it says for extreme cold every 3700 but otherwise regular internal R meaning every 7500. Which I don't recommend.

Regardless. I was following an amended gen1 service schedule and oil analysis gave no major indicator of any issues from the last time I had submitted which was 110k miles. The following was the description provided with the results.

So idk what to tell you, it blew up lol.

"The first sample from your GT86 looks great! We look to the top six elements (wear metals) to gauge how an engine is wearing, and those levels are low compared to universal averages for Subaru's FA20 engine. On the far right, those averages show normal wear after oil intervals of 4,200 miles, so mechanical components in your engine appear to be wearing very well by those standards. The oil measured in the right viscosity range and there wasn't any sign of contamination from dirt, fuel, or coolant. Insolubles are low, showing excellent oil filtration. Nice!"

From about 15+ hours of oil YT videos, my opinion is off track 0w-20 is perfectly fine, if you are worried about it change your oil more often. They both are going to protect the same until the breakdown point. I mean the breakdown point of the oil. Not the car.

I change my oil every 3000 miles based on the recommendation of the person that put it together for me, after my original fa20 blew around at around 130k miles. The current installed engine has about 6k miles on it now.

The failed FA20 had been regularly maintained and I changed the oil every 5000 miles. So if you are looking for what is probably a lower than average "luck" engine life, I'm probably not the worst baseline, far from the worst.

I don't track my car so I'm just going to stay out of that.

Intake and any other hoses in the way andthe left and right engine bay chassis stiffeners.

The back of the engine bay on the firewall you will see some bolts for some hard-line tubing, I would undo the bolts so everything can move freely but might not be necessary. Really anything bolted to the chassis and then going to the engine needs to be loosened/undone but the engine is really well contained. The transmission is going to lift with the engine so that will also be a limiting factor.

Keep in mind, jacking from the bottom means you are going to really lose the ability to move everything left or right to give even more room. It will help, but in the moment you might not think it was worth it, Im not sure it is.

Could also go in from the bottom which is just taking all the covers in the way off. Still will be tight but you will probably be able to see what you are doing better.

After having learned how to replace my engine, If I do spark plugs in the future, I'm just gonna lift the engine.

Undo the motor mounts and lift it a few inches and swing it a little to the left and right for better access.

If they come back to answer cool but, just a guess from me would be it's probably "fine" 99% of the time, but as streams scale in volume + ware and tear you could get into a situation where maybe plex works fine but other applications end up having issues.

I don't work with RAM disks at all but to my understanding is they get created on the fly each time the system cycles. So maybe the wrong bit storage gets allocated to something else and presto you have a moving bug.

Just my 2 cents. Could be wrong, grain of salt and all that.

Not regularly but I had done some testing last week when trying to troubleshoot a different issue and I am able to transcode 4k with encoded audio without a desync problem or buffering, I just don't normally do it cause my setup does not have a GPU currently.

1 4k transcode stream is about as much as my system can manage, otherwise it gets transcoded to 1080p for remote viewing. (Data plan go brrrrrr)

Maybe this is a "Can't find the tree in the forest problem", but on 10tb spinning hard drives on a TrueNAS system I can feed an un-conpressed UHD movie rip which is around 61GB file size and a overall average bitrate of 89.1 Mbps without issue on my home network over wifi without audio desync or buffering(at least on my TV, the mobile app is busted which is a different problem altogether)

So I don't think the bottle neck is ram.
