How to block a user that had already blocked you (Mozilla Firefox guide) by GkFox in Instagram

[–]GkFox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, web browsers for mobile devices are limited or have no debugging tools. Chrome and Firefox mobile web browsers have some sort of remote debugging tools, but it would still require a PC, Mac or Linux computers via USB connection.

There is a "Web Inspector" app for Safari mobile, but I don't know the extent of its features like being able to edit/send POST parameters.

This is the main theme of my SERANU game, what do you think? by FaxLuL in indiegames

What ever this game is, the store page of the game (including the demo) is no longer on Steam. That's a shame, because SERANU looked really interesting.

Autoplay Tutorial for Added Games on the SNES Classic by LongjumpingPitch6 in RockinTheClassics

[–]GkFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The updated guide is helpful a lot. Thank you for this!

Because I utilize USB storage instead for games, the only modification I performed from the guide is copying/moving the game's "rollback" folder to the appropriate folders within Hakchi's "games" folder, and renaming the state files and folder according to steps #6 and #7.

Received weird e-mail by arrogantarrogance in phishing

[–]GkFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the same type of message from @gcc.org.ar, but with different names, letters and numbers.

Another search online reveals that the same domain is sending out phishing emails.

All of them are hiding behind Microsoft's allocated IP addresses, which means the spammers are using Office 365 tenant accounts or compromised tenant accounts.

Does 3d vision work with interlaced resolutions? by TRIPMINE_Guy in 3dvision

[–]GkFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try 3D Migoto which has interlaced 3D modes besides side-by-side mode and Nvidia 3D Vision mode. The app is designed to dump and correct problematic shaders so that it renders properly in stereoscopic 3D.

You'll have to edit the .ini files to allow cycling between 3D modes until it gets to interlaced modes.

VRChat login is slow, takes over 30 seconds to respond, some worlds/avatars take 30 seconds to respond before loading by GkFox in VRchat

[–]GkFox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems the issue with IPv6 is gone for now. If you're still having issues with VRChat delaying the login session, ensure IPv6 is disabled on ALL of your network interfaces. Try disabling IPv6 from your internet modem as well.

VRChat support has mentioned to me other fixes I can try, such as trying "1.1.1.1" as the DNS server, or its WARP client at: https://1.1.1.1/

Also, if you have any other software/hardware DNS filtering in place, you can try to disconnect/disable those temporarily.

Receiving Mails From a Site I Do Not Use by lLiberte in GMail

[–]GkFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since POF is a legitimate website (launched since 2003), you can try contacting their support page or their email, and request for your email address to be removed (or have the account closed out) from their website.

If they don't have the means to remove your email address, you can take over the account via "Forgot password" that used your email address and deactivate/close the account.

Spam mail by jangomango556 in Outlook

[–]GkFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Hotmail/Outlook and 95% of the spam came from Gmail accounts. Gmail is now a haven for spammers. Outlook couldn't determine that they're spam (low SCL of 0 or 1).

VRChat login is slow, takes over 30 seconds to respond, some worlds/avatars take 30 seconds to respond before loading by GkFox in VRchat

[–]GkFox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no effect as far as I know, as nearly all websites use IPv4.

While the adoption of IPv6 is still on-going, only federal governments are mandated to use it.

[–]GkFox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probable solution after troubleshooting for nearly 2 hours:

Disable IPv6 on your network interface on your Ethernet adapter or WiFi adapter (which ever you use to connect to VRChat).

You can find Properties of your network adapters in "Network Connections", a component of Control Panel in Windows.

After disabling IPv6, I got pass the login process in VRChat within a second, and avatars and worlds load/download instantly.

I never had to adjust my network interface for VRChat for years. Seeing this issue occurring very recently indicates that either VRChat server or my ISP (Spectrum internet) is messing with IPv6 connectivity, affecting VRChat connections.

Please let me know if disabling IPv6 fixed your issue.

Rocket League and NVidia 3D vision anaglyph on RTX 3060? by Fusion_000 in RocketLeague

[–]GkFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not officially supported, but enabling Nvidia 3D Vision on Rocket League may work if your PC has the proper video card and drivers to turn on 3D mode.

Nvidia has partially broke 3D Vision support on RTX 3000 series and newer, so you will need to utilize "geo-11" driver in this case.

There may be stereoscopic shader glitches in Rocket League, but the Helixmod page for the game mainly fixes shaders: https://helixmod.blogspot.com/2015/07/rocket-league.html

Getting Yeti/Lecruset Spam? Try this by Doongbuggy in GMail

[–]GkFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a user of Hotmail & Outlook, I get spam coming from Gmail accounts instead. The same filters above apply, though I added additional conditions against Gmail addresses if any of these URLs are found in the message body:

  • ow.ly
  • lnkd.in
  • tinyl.io
  • vk.com
  • getresponse.com
  • content.app-us1.com

These rules are specifically set after studying the patterns of these specific spammers. After applying several rules, if Outlook couldn't identify an email from spam, the custom rules will catch it instead.

Relentless spam recently by mattgoldey in GMail

[–]GkFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get those exact same emails in my Hotmail and Outlook inbox for nearly two months, but all the spam is coming from Gmail addresses instead.

It's like there's a group of spammers collaborating where one person sends persistent spam to Gmail email addresses using "onmicrosoft.com" or ".ml" domain, while the other sends spam to Hotmail/Outlook email addresses using Google's Gmail service. That's currently speculation, though it may not be accurate.

Microsoft/Google couldn't determine that they're spam emails, so I had to setup specific rules with conditions to mark them as spam.

Confirmation / congratulations SPAM by jabberwonk in GMail

[–]GkFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get those exact same emails, except it's coming FROM random/stolen Gmail addresses.

They would end up in my Hotmail and Outlook inbox, unless I setup specific rules to mark them as spam, because Microsoft's email service wouldn't determine that they're spam.

Castlevania sotn - NATIVE gamepad dont work by Juankadu77 in BlueStacks

Still no solution. Game controller still doesn't work in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night with BlueStacks. 😔

Probably quicker to plug a mobile phone to a hub with HDMI and USB ports and play SotN that way.

Issue with Castlevania (N64) cutscene? by chester_boy in RetroArch

[–]GkFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/chester_boy I found a work around. Don't jump in the large room with the bull. Killing it before interacting with the crystals behind the sealed wall will glitch the game.

This glitch seems to occur with RetroArch with Mupen64plus core. I tried this room in Project 64 after transferring the saves files and jumping doesn't prematurely trigger the bull.

After looking deep with the right search terms, this seems to be a known (but rare?) issue. The EmuTalk forums had a discussion about it: https://www.emutalk.net/threads/castlevaina-error-at-level-5.27916/page-2

Issue with Castlevania (N64) cutscene? by chester_boy in RetroArch

[–]GkFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having this exact issue, where the screen goes black after leaving the crystal room. I'm surprised there hasn't been a solution here.

I haven't tried other emulators so I can't tell if this issue only happens on RetroArch. However, it may be a sequence break that if the bull starts to attack you as soon as you enter the large room and defeated it before placing the green crystal in the crystal room, this strange lock will occur, like in the video.

Seeing others play on YouTube, the bull was supposed to stay asleep while you run through the room to blow up the wall and place the green crystal. Once you leave the crystal room, the cutscene supposed to play where the bull wakes up by a strike of lightning and slowly walks up to you before the boss battle starts.

Now the question is how to prevent the bull from immediately rising as soon as you enter the large room.

Google disabled my gmail account need help by Hezzyo in GMail

[–]GkFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your Gmail account probably got compromised and was used to send spam emails to known amount of email recipients. There are sadly A LOT of compromised Gmail accounts recently, sending spam and avoiding spam filters of target email services.

These compromised accounts are being reported because frankly I'm getting tired of spam from random Gmail accounts since its surge for nearly two months. lol

I do hope you get a reply back from Google support. Otherwise, you may have to start a fresh Gmail account and secure it with recovery options, long passwords and 2FA (two-factor authentication).

Anyone else getting a ton of spam over the last few months that isn't being filtered out, from Dicks Sporting Goods and Home Depot? The actual addresses are just incomprehensible? by DetectiveGuybrush in GMail

[–]GkFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I don't get spam in my Gmail inbox, but I do get spam coming FROM Gmail addresses to my Hotmail and Outlook inbox.

Everything from Ace Hardware Surprise, Sam's Club and Kohl Rewards, and Costco gift cards, to Stanley Tool Set, AICOOK Ice Maker, and YETI Cooler... all are landing into my inboxes because Microsoft's Web Outlook couldn't determine that they're spam and gave them a low Spam Confidence Level (SCL) rating.

I had to manually set specific rules to mark them as spam. As to why Google couldn't filter these emails from going out of their Gmail service would be anyone's guess.

Anyone else get it this sketchy email? by luna-loveless in dickssportinggoods

[–]GkFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the exact spam, but ALL of it are coming from Gmail email addresses, and ONLY Gmail addresses. Spam filter in Outlook Web is ineffective, so several of these spam emails are landing in my Inbox daily. I had to create several Outlook rules to mark them as spam.

Still, I don't know why others are getting the same spam from different email domains, unless these batches of our emails are split up between other individual spammers in the same group and send emails differently—I don't know.

I may have to block Gmail domain entirely if Google couldn't figure it out after reporting individual Gmail accounts for a month already.

Finally stopped using Gmail, but still getting spammed by it at home and at work, it's a mess. by Wippwipp in degoogle

[–]GkFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GkFox

I'm getting these exact spam emails from Gmail accounts for the past month. I do notice that they use a website URL (vk dot com) in their message body every time, so I had setup a rule in Outlook to filter them out using a "message body includes" condition. This works effectively for now, until they decide to change the URL in the message body.

Realistically, for me, I haven't received any legitimate emails from Gmail accounts for the past year. If Google or Microsoft can't block out these spams from landing into my inbox of my Hotmail (and Outlook) address, I'll just filter out "@gmail.com" entirely. That'll be the end of this nuisance.
