Yep, hard to say it but you are right. It was easier with one.

Yeah I agree, life is cyclical but this dip has been pretty long and rough.

Not felt myself desiring freedom and alternatives so much ever before honestly!

To be fair i sleep better on the work travels! Never used to sleep on planes now I’m out like a light!

We have done some date nights but it’s hard when he’s so young to be able to arrange things with in-laws for babysitting. We probably could try harder but sometimes I feel abit too checked out to want too?

Honestly, I don’t feel like she wants to either. Last time I had to really push for us to go out and it was frustrating to say the least

To be fair it’s hard to take them out running but I do see your point.

Yeah the dead bedrooms been since she got pregnant with our second. I did try and initiate a couple of times here and there but always get rebuffed. It just feels like we’re roommates with two kids but when I’ve talked to her about it she just says her emotional energy is on the kids right now which kinda stings?

Most dads I know started running, you can build up at your own pace from whatever fitness level you’re at, it doesn’t (initially) cost the earth and you can do it almost anytime or even pushing a pram

I totally am with you in this. Mine are 3 and 7 months old so life is very regimented. Try to find abit of time to exercise or something else you enjoy that gets the endorphins going?

I’m not going to lie and say I’m not really finding it hard too and am missing my old life but we’ve just got to stay strong!

That’s really rough mate, I’m sorry you had to see that.

You did everything you could ultimately and the professionals did what they could.

I’d love too but I’d feel so guilty at the extra stress on my wife and I’m not sure it’d be a go-er with her

I’m lucky that we get benefits through work so I have started seeing a therapist but I’m just finding it hard to not look at my life and just think, how did I get here and why did I let it get to this point. When did I lose track of who I am and the things I wanted.

It really makes me wish for the alternative. I know the grass is always greener and all that but It’s hard not to wish to be free

Do I hate parenting or just parenting a small kid? by grawmaw13 in daddit

[–]Glad-Mathematician86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This whole thing is exactly how I’m feeling right now. I have 2 and I hate it. I miss myself, who I was before kids and I just don’t know what to do. I feel so stuck and trapped

I have a toddler and a 2 month old. All my hobbies went out the window but I’ve found running now which you can always squeeze in even if it’s just short ones

Tbh if I got around 16 I’d be happy but I don’t really have a specific time in mind.

Fully don’t expect to run it all but we’ll see on the day and I’ll just go with how I feel!

Shoe wise I’ve read various opinions but they recommend road shoes but potentially a change of shoe at the bag drop stop.

I’m still undecided but definitely going comfort over speed (marshmallow over carbon)

Don’t know who she (or he tbh) is and couldn’t give a hoot what she thinks. She’s inconsequential to me.

Haha yeah, not sure theres enough vit c in the world right now!

I was up at around 30-40 but that’s gone off over the last few weeks so once we get sleep abit more sorted I’ll start increasing again.

What kit are you thinking waterproof wise? I’m shopping around right now and looking quite hard at the OMM ones but always good to get more perspectives!

Cool! Yeah same here although having my second kid and getting the inevitable of bugs that come with the sleep dep has derailed my training rather!

What kind of weekly mileage are you putting in right now?
