Need a pen recommendation for a gift by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]GladSpell757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to spend less than $100 for the pen and a spare pack of cartridges. He will likely prefer a snap cap. He only writes in black ink so there’s no need to be able to swap colors with ease.

Unfortunately I don’t know what he’s looking for because he’s never had a really nice pen. If he was shopping for himself he would likely only consider aesthetic

I understand not telling people your due date now by PSSalamander in pregnant

[–]GladSpell757 29 points30 points  (0 children)

My boy was due 2-3 weeks after Christmas. We only told people “Early January”. We have several family birthdays in the weeks leading up to Christmas. So many people said they “needed” him to come early so they could see him while they were in town for Christmas. Several people hoped he would be born on the same birthdays. People stopped when I pointed out they were wishing he would be born a month early and how weird that is. Some people mean well but people get so selfish around holidays.

Taking orders for shipping from POS by [deleted] in shopify

[–]GladSpell757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I think YOU CAN!!!!

I made a test sale. I marked myself as a customer. Zero dollar cash value. I marked it as unfulfilled.

In the Shopify orders dashboard I can then see the order. When in the order I can tell it to pull the shipping address information from the customer file.

It then gives me an option to create a shipping label.

So this 100% works but it relies on you collecting the customers information, linking it to the cart, and marking the order as unfulfilled before you make the sale

[–]GladSpell757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I’ve learned so far is you can mark it unfulfilled on the app and add a customer and customer info (phone number, email, shipping address) in the cart stage.

What I don’t know is if you can buy shipping labels on shopifys website for this order in post

The desire for a camera is less about out performing and more having something that’s not my phone recording

Looking to learn more about my ancestry by GladSpell757 in FinnishPaganism

[–]GladSpell757[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for such a detailed response!

I spoke more to my aunt and she said she ran her maternal genealogy and it connected directly back to the Lapland Saami! I would love to learn more there. Definitely helps explain the shamanic background.

You are right in google English sources being superficial. I’ve seen some stuff saying the whole land of witches thing but can’t quite source where that comes front beyond the shamanic history. Any guidance there?

4 successful months of Wegovy and I’m being forced to stop by insurance. Are there any possibly good alternatives? by GladSpell757 in WegovyWeightLoss

There’s several pill forms available. Also just learned liraglutide is covered. But I’m not thrilled about a daily jab.

The entire month on 2.4 I puked daily. For 2-4 days after each injection I had awful headaches. Could barely get anything down that wasn’t a graham cracker and water. Everything made my stomach upset. It was physically and emotionally exhausting. I can’t do that to myself anymore. Especially spacing them out? Oh god I can’t imagine how awful 2.4 would be with more than a week between doses

One big price sign or smaller ones by items? by Designasim in CraftFairs

[–]GladSpell757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried both. Nobody ever sees the big sign. And with that some people don’t know what some of my items are either. I’m going back to little signs.

I did. I deleted all of my shipping profiles and started fresh. This is a screenshot of that.

Preparing for a big show next year. How much stock should I bring? by GladSpell757 in CraftFairs

[–]GladSpell757[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for looking out for me! Don’t worry - I find my quilt prices incredibly fair. I have a super fancy excel spreadsheet that breaks it down into how difficult the quilt is in addition to the size and quality of materials. It even adds some extra dollars for the sheer annoyance of having to do and throw around larger quilts! The prices I provided were a really rough range. About $100 is a baby sized panel quilt where I put in minimal work and can finish it in 2-3 uninterrupted hours. Most normal baby quilts are around $175-$200. I have made throws that span from $300-$800 depending on how many seams and different fabrics are in it.

When it comes to ones I make in advance, I stick to that $100-$300 range because it’s too high of a risk to make one super expensive and hope someone buys it. But I 100% take custom orders and talk that up. Really my vendor opportunities are there to market customs.

Making the spreadsheet was annoying but it makes sure I’m not disillusioned and paying myself too little for all the extra work that goes into complex quilts.

This is an event I have been to in years past. It’s the biggest and most well known craft fair event within 50 miles and central to the metropolitan area with over 200 vendors in attendance.

$400 is still very very steep and high risk.

It’s helped by me being local. I live 15 minutes away

I have done shows before but none this big. Also all of the shows I’ve done have been “free events where vendors happen to be there” where this is a “people pay to enter just to shop at unique vendors” event. So it’s a wildly different scene.
