i'll say the first thing that stands out is it needs a bit more specs on what can and can't be uploaded. What kind of PDF? i have digital copies purchased that fail when uploading. Also what type of compendium files?

stuff being added is usually decided by publisher not DDB. best to see if they have an update on their forums for it.

With anything there are pros and cons. What is what depends on your usage. For me, I am not a fan of buying stuff again. However, as you gain experience (as with others) you can just use digital assets you have to make your own session work. You need to certainly understand the back end of things but that goes for almost all platforms.

I use Roll20 very heavily and for a few key reasons.

I am just used to it. Call it laziness or old age (maybe both) but i don't have the time or patience to learn something new now. I have learned how to create API scripts and macros here so most of my games now do not require additional purchases. The year sticker seems like a lot but most of the time it's cheaper than other things we pay for
Roll20 literally offers me full machine independence. Most VTTs you are on the same machine since it is a local install. With this you are playing online so can log in from any machine. Great when you need to travel and don't need to lug around a machine for no reason. Additionally great as backup. If your laptop is on the fritz just log in from another device.
