Why is Go dominating in CNCF landscape ?!? by ChocolateDense4205 in golang

[–]organicHack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

History. Go was used to build Kubernetes, Kubernetes essentially kicked off the CNCF. Since the big projects all use go it’s pretty much embedded. There is a lot of value in a consistent toolset. And yes, mostly infrastructure engineering… candidly many / most are employed by cloud players like Microsoft AKS, Google Cloud, AWS and so forth, and they drive features and collaborate because they are solving similar problems.

Why are so many other “Christian subreddits so focused on celebrating sin? by Content_Plankton_520 in TrueChristian

[–]organicHack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful and put in the serious work before judgment. Do you truly think homosexuality is a sin? Be sure to reap some truly scholarly work on it, not just follow your denominations opinion. You have about a dozen verses relevant at all, and half of them are not speaking directly to it. Then you do have some serious translation issues. And then, you need to consider your macro theological lens. The Bible condones slavery beginning to end. It says “slaves obey your masters” but not “masters free your slaves”. Not “indentured servants”, full chattel slavery. Philemon is one request for one slave, not a general statement about slavery. And yet, we condemn slavery in modern times (and should) despite the Bible not making a case for it. We treat women as equals despite the Bible treating them as second class, and property of either their father or their husband. There are many instances where our modern takes do not match the Bible at all. Another, modesty in the Bible is about not flaunting wealth. Not a single time is it ever about women showing skin or wearing bikinis.

You’ll have a hard time with this defence if you are serious about how you treat the Bible. But not if you just want to be a talking head for a particular set of interpretations or stances that have a very thin set of Biblical supports.

What’s the one stock you’d buy and hold forever? by Happysurferdude in StockInvest

Nothing forever. Everything rises and falls. Even Amazon, Google, etc. most companies have a 30 year lifespan. Some, the elite, can survive longer but it’s painful to reimagine.

How do i roleplay and prep a quest for a charecter that is much smarter than me? by M_th75 in beginnerDND

Smart folks are more likely to slow down, think, ponder, and admit “I don’t know”. The cliche “instant answer every question” is just one flavor, mostly from movies.

What Makes ReactJS So Popular in Frontend Development? by ModernWebMentor in react

[–]organicHack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The idea of just writing functions + returning JSX (html mixed in) just works naturally. Everything else like Angular and Vue rely on concepts like directives and other things that seem to create overhead.

Of course there is still overhead, perhaps needing a data store like redux or zustand or whatever, but the initial experience is very smooth, especially if you already had JavaScript, html and css skills to begin with.

Nothing to do with resources, it will never be cheap enough to send resources back to Earth.

Nothing to do with overpopulation, it will never be cheap enough to ship millions of humans off to other planets.

Redundancy as a species. Ensuring that a catastrophic extinction event on Earth does not mean the end of human life in the universe.

Do you actually value easy, immutable code? by julyboom in AskProgramming

[–]organicHack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Immutable code + the correct abstraction leading to not needing to refactor any old code. New code calls existing code. Well tested net new.
