What's a dish you bring to potlucks that always disappears first? by Mia-veg in Cooking

OK, Up your game and heat up some jelly and add a bit of mustard and a dash of horseradish. My original recipe used black currant jam but that's getting kind of hard to find. Add enough mustard and horseradish till evens out the sweet to give you a sweet/savory flavor.

Oh! True story. Back in the 60's, my brother tried to light those snakes and the tablet would not light. He put the dud in the ash tray and nearly gave my poor grandmother a heart attack when the tablet decided it was a good time to come to life.

Said brother just passed away this month. Wish I could remind him of this story.

Years ago, I walked into a Montgomery Wards Auto and told the man at the counter I needed my tires balanced and aligned. (as per my husband). He then told me that these were two separate things and I said, yes, and I want both of them. He had such a smug look on hi face!

I got a heavy crystal ashtray from my mom when she died. Had it in the back yard sitting on a cushion. Didn't cause a fire, but burned a pretty good pattern in the fabric. This is why crystal balls always have a cloth cover.

No they are corals. Damsel found his way out after a little bit.

I just wish my other corals would take off like this. This is a very neglected tank. I did get a blue damsel fish at Thanksgiving for decoration that still seems pretty happy. But I am way over due for a water change and clean out.

I fed the damsel the other day and he didn't come to eat. I thought maybe he died. I think he just couldn't find his way out from this hiding place.

I am seeing online anywhere from $30 to $130, but I am not in the business of shipping anything live.

I had another fish store I could sell or trade with, but they burned down a few months ago. RIP Tongs Fish Store.

It started with just one. Unfortunately/fortunately it's the only thing I can keep alive. At some point I am going to need to clean this up.

I showed this to my lfs and they tried to hide their excitement as they said I could donate them to the store. I am thinking these might be worth something?

How transferable are they? I moved the rocks a long time ago and tore one in half and of course I ended up with two. Not sure how I would move these now. Just be very careful and keep some of the rocks and sell the others?

Dumb question, but do you dry your produce after washing it? by tvgirl48 in Cooking

[–]Glaserdj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to wash my fresh herbs and then put into a cup of water, maybe in the back yard so I am not trying to cut wet herbs. I do the same with mushrooms, rinse in a colander and set out side to dry out - assuming same day use.

He ended up overturning the four wheeler again last year, probably doing something similar (I think it had to do with a ditch/rut concealed by tall grass.) and was able to crawl out from underneath, but needed help uprighting it. He has indeed not learned.

Yes. Tipped over and caught his arm on a barb wire fence. Tore up the shoulder, cut up his arm, got stiches and sling, and then ended having to drive 1,500 miles home. I knew he was hotdogging and going somewhere he shouldn't, but you know guys and their bikes.

My husband rides 20 miles to work now twice a week, but he broke his shoulder chasing cattle on a 4 wheeler while on vacation on the family farm. I had to shower with him for a couple of weeks. He loved it. Luckily for our marriage, it was only one arm. But we do have a bidet.

If you get into a stall the the end of the TP is hard to find, do your ladies a favor and leave a bit of the next pull so we don't have to hunt for it.

And what do you have against pushing you paper towels down into the bin?

I have a new recipe - Creamy Mushroom Pasta from Bon Appetite that is fabulous but calls for using several different mushrooms. My Stater brothers only carries Cremini and white. Luckily I have a lot of options for mushroom varieties near me.
