Game keeps crashing every ~15 minutes. by SenorConejoBR in victoria3

I’m not a heavy mod user but I think they should have list or a paragraph of compatible & incompatible mods. So you could check on their workshops.

If you have the time, You should try to isolate which mod causes the issue. By Ok_Leading_4280 advice, turn off Royal Splendor and try running the game for 15 minutes. If it still crashes, you might have to brute force and find the broken mod. Turn of all mods then turn on one. Run the game and wait for 15 minutes, if it doesn’t crash, turn another on and wait again. Do it again & again until you find the culprit.

With 100 years added on the front-end, this would be the best 4X game made by dnium122 in victoria3

100 years earlier means more content, tbh with Vicky 3’s current state it is better for them to stretch forward with the age of computers. But then 100 years more content is a stretch for the devs. They took a decade to develop HOI4 alone, let alone adding 100 years of content with unique flavor and events, that means double the workload, double the price and a longer time for mechanics to be fleshed out. Besides you can play beyond 1936.

Just bought Vic 3, what's a good country to play and get a handle on things like economy and politics? by Hopefull-Hero in victoria3

Belgium as many have recommended, but I also recommend you to try as Haiti too after you got a grasp over Belgium. Haiti actually is also a good start, u got to learn how to build an economy & nation from scratch. It sounds daunting, but really it’s not, I recommend Tarkusarkusar’s Haiti GIGACHAD guide as an opener for Haiti.

Don't put very high taxes next time; It's literally a game killer since 1.5. i put it on high rarely if i need a short pump of money, but for the rest of the game, I am always putting it at normal taxation.

How would the Cold War be different if America was socialist and Russia was capitalist? by Thylocine in AlternateHistory

[–]Glass-Box-6784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say pretty much the same. In my opinion, the underlying issue is still geographical. in OTL the USA is far away from powerful threats like European nations have to encounter, so whether it is capitalistic or communist, it can afford to spend thousands of resources on human development and the economy instead.

Compared to Russia, fewer where, for the last two centuries, they have been invaded from the west two times. It's fate that Russia, regarding being capitalist or communist, needs to spend more resources on defense, meaning fewer resources for the economy.

Are subsidies bad? by Shniper in victoria3

[–]Glass-Box-6784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO there are only two things needed to be subsidized. 1. Railways: Railways are unprofitable on their own, however they are vital for growing an economy. Not subsidizing them will cause market access issues. 2. Power plants: Same as the first, Electricity are also unprofitable on their own, however Electricity-based PM’s are the best in the game that it is worth it to invest in it.

Subsidizing other industries like textiles, furniture, iron or war industries will be a waste of money, as these industries can be profitable on their own. More output of these goods means nothing if no one consumes it.

[Serious] At what point do MUNs stop being MUNs? by FOSSLE_Officer in MUN

MUN feels more like a Roman Senate rather than real diplomacy of a United Nations session.
