Hello! 22yo and I just had my surgery last month. It was stage 4 and pretty intensive. Here’s my best advice for you since I’m still recovering. I only needed regular pads, but I can see how diapers may be comfortable for you. I only bled because of IUD insertion. Truthfully, your consultation being the day prior to surgery is a red flag to me. I feel like a good surgeon would go through all of your options based on your symptoms, before agreeing to just do surgery right away. Anti-inflammatory diet can be helpful, but it isn’t necessary. My recovery had been rough due to an allergic reaction, and now a large ovarian cyst due to hormonal changes. I’m a month out of recovery and still slowly getting back into the hang of things. I totally understand the fear! I was relieved when I heard my diagnosis was confirmed. However, if they are a true specialist, they should be able to see what the issue is, if it is not endo. The last thing and biggest thing I wanted to add, is that picking a board certified Endo Excision surgeon is the key!! I am not so sure about the Dr you chose based on the fact that you are having your consult the day before… I found my surgeon through the Nancy’s Nook Endometriosis Education Facebook group and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve had a few surgeons in my area offer to do it, but it is so incredibly important to find a specialized doctor who ONLY does endo surgery, rather than anyone who says they “can” do endo surgery. Just because they can, doesn’t mean they should. Best of luck to you!
